for RAW, see Paladin's Sacrafice:A2 besides a caster choosing themselves as a valid target.
As a social game other players should approve (some people would object due to personal or moral issues) of the action and a person should not have obvious psychological or social issues that are being acted out in a 'bad' way in the game. These issue are beyond RAW or a game in general.

As a GM, it would depend on what exactly you're trying to accomplish whether or not I would allow it but generally speaking, yes you could cast a spell on yourself that would injure you.
Now, if you're trying to accomplish some weird hijinks I'm going to stop you. But if this is a case of say hitting yourself with inflict light wounds to convince others that some evil cultists attacked you I'd allow it.

see [non-PFS]Penumbra:K0, Protective Penumbra:K2, and Dancing Darkness:K1.
another way around it is through polymorph such as Alter Self:T2, (Su) and (Ex) abilities are suppressed.
The mundane way involves sleeping during the day and using bear traps as door mats. Cloaks, umbrellas etc are generally ineffective. Smoked Goggles carry perception check penalties and don't have the specific text you want. The magic items I read have an excessive cost.
Alchemical Tools: Darklight Lantern $20 and Shadowcloy $25(!) per min.

I am aware. Penumbra is a very hard sell for me, I just don't think you should get past a limitation that easily (especially considering it was basically revised into a level 2 spell). Level 2 spells on the build are also a good distance away (level 5).

If for some reason you wanted to, could you cast a "Harmful" spell on yourself?
People do that all the time - after all, Enlarge Person is considered a harmful effect (or at elast not considered a harmless effect)!
Seriously, it's not even system abuse or anything. Applying a ability with both benefits and downsides to yourself is something you do all the time, e.g. a Barbarian does that every time they enter Rage. Some non-harmless spells, like Grease, have their creative-use-effects explicitly baken in, even.

Well, Cantrip or L2 version, Penumbra/Protective Penumbra is specifically "the spell that removes the penalties for Light Blindness." I mean, that's its job.
I thought you meant can you cast Fireball or Lightning Bolt on yourself. I think you can, if you really want to, but again check w/your fellow gamers first.

Looks at the gay wizard in Mummy's Mask with a mostly used grease spell in his back pocket...
