What are some dead languages in Golarion?

For anyone unfamiliar with the term, it means a language that's no longer spoken by any country (such as Latin and Sanskrit in real life), and is mostly only known by linguists and scholars. Are there any languages like this in Golarion? And, if so, why did they die out?

Azlanti is pretty much only spoken by scholars, some Azarketi, and the Mordant Spire elves, but Azlant itself is long dead, so I’d argue it counts. Jistka is likewise no longer spoken outside of scholars and a rare few Automatons, and I’d be willing to bet their ancient Tekritanin League foes probably had a language of their own. The Shory tongue died with the fall of their nation, and I’d assume fellow fallen Mwangi powers Rastel and Holt Xatramba spoke their own languages.

The Pathfinder wiki has a page for dead languages, listing Ancient Osiriani, Azlanti, Jistka, Shory, Tekritanin, and Thassilonian.

Let's not forget Necril. It's the king of all dead languages.

I'll see myself out.

(Though it is kind of ironic that the literal language of the dead has more extant speakers than Azlanti.)

Thassilonian might actually be experiencing a revival, given the appearance of New Thassilon.

Basically for any 'ancient fallen civilization' on any given continent, it's fair to assume that they had an associated language that died along with them (with exceptions such as Razatlani in Arcadia or Tien in Tian Xia, though even those likely have ancient forms far different from their modern counterparts).

Ah, thanks. I guess I should have just looked that up first. Would the Jandelay language count, do you think? It's really obscure, although I'm not sure if it was ever spoken by an actual country to begin with

There are the watchers, who live there, as well as the Oliphaunt itself. The Oliphaunt speaks Jandelayan, according to its entry in Mythic Realms, but the watchers appear to speak via truespeech and telepathy, according to their entry in Planar Adventures. It also seems that Jandelay also has petitioners, and I thiiiiiiink they speak it too? On the other hand being dead is a prerequisite for being a petitioner.

There are petitioners there, but they are people "imported" by the watchers, rather than dead people. I supposed it's not a dead language though, just REALLY obscure.
