As much as I love Mel Brooks, I think he's pretty much done. 5 years ago I went to a showing of Young Frankenstein, and it included a live introduction hosted by Mel Brooks. In the course of 15 minutes, there were multiple jokes that he told twice. They weren't that good either, but he had clearly forgotten that he'd told them already. His stories and love for Gene were still great and a wonderful addition to the experience.
I'm assuming he's mostly attached for marketing and rights purposes.

Unfortunate to hear, but has Mel hasn't been known for live standup since the 1950s - and even then, a lot of it was rehearsed routines; you can be too slow/out-of-it for real-time performances and still be a gifted writer/director (and that can be true at any age).
I was IN a "Young Frankenstein" production in 2019 (sure as sheol didn't get The Mensch himself as a warmup act, of course)! Good times; nowhere's more fun for me than the stage.
