Aasimar Sorcerer + Blissful Spell?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So... Aasimar Sorcerers have the favored class option of adding +1/4 to the caster level when casting good spells.

Blissful Spell lets you add the good descriptor and benefits (-2 penalty to attack rolls and weapon damage rolls for 1 round on successful offensive spells /
+2 morale bonus on skill checks and saving throws on beneficial spells) to single-target spells.

Do you think it'd be worth building an Aasimar sorcerer to take advantage of that? They do get cha bonuses and some otherwise strong benefits. And if you take the heavenborn racial trait, you get +1 caster level on good spells.

Especially if combined with something like the Arcane bloodline, I could see that being relatively powerful. Do you think +1 spell level is worth the +level/4 caster level advantage? Of course, that also gives up the other benefits you could get from the favored class bonus (+1 skill, +1 spell known for humans, additional uses of a bloodlien power for half-elves, etc).

I have to admit, that does seem like a really interesting combo.

It could be worth it. With heavenborn and spell specialization and this you'd be looking at CL 9 at character level 5, CL 13 at level 8. Which means you'd hardly need to bother with spell penetration via feats or the blood piercing bloodline mutation.

There's a few spells which have the good descriptor without needing blissful spell (burst of radiance, protection from/magic circle against evil, appropriate summoning spells) so the arcane bloodline isn't essential, though it could be handy.

Thanks. I was thinking Arcane Bloodline to reduce the casting time of metamagiced spells, but maybe that's not really that necessary. A lot of times a sorcerer can get by in combat with a 5-ft step and a full-round action.

I was also just thinking that the extra caster levels could really add to damage. At lev 13, you could have a disintegrate (with signature spell) at CL 19 for 38d6 damage (if they fail their fort save). That's not bad for a 7th level spell at that level. And as you mentioned, you'd have a big advantage on beating spell resistance or avoiding dispel magic (if your GM uses counterspells/dispels buffs).

As Darigaaz said, it's interesting.

Correction. That should be level 14 for a CL 20 disintegrate. Since sorcerers need to be Lev 14 to cast 7th level spells... Still, that's only one level away from spell perfection, and you could always empower it...
