In my case reason why I'm worried is not just shipping costs(while with three books I wouldn't get the "we cover first 10 dollars of the shipping cost!" bonus, it would be equivalent of getting third book's shipping cost for free. I'm still confused about how flat softcover books are more expensive to ship than miniatures are, since over here package cost is based on shape not weight), its that in summer there is change in local custom & tax laws for buying stuff over so I'm confused about that and worried whether or not it will increase price even further :'D
(on sidenote, at times like this I'm really annoyed by modern retailer practice of lowering prices by 5 cents :p The shipping cost reduction only applies when total is 100 dollars, so buying four books is couple cents too low to qualify, so you'd have to buy five books to get that reduction)
Edit: Ah realized that the change I was worried about only affects small purchases, so basically situation is exact same for expensive ones. Still hard to tell whether its too expensive or not, but screw it, I'll just get starfinder subscription to get 5 books at once in order to get that 10 dollar shipment discount and hope for best x'D

Compassion can be hard. Having 30$ to spend now and then dealing with the budget is different than saving 30$ every month because emergencies come up pay check to pay check.
Having lived on both sides of the spectrum I fully understand 'budgeting' 30$ a month and spending it within that budget and being ok. Vs having a 90$ tab all at once when you live pay check to pay check and using that money on something else before that 90$ tab shows up.
This isn't a problem someone creates for themselves, and a lack of compassion is a personal choice.

But between the Absalom book being delayed, what, two years plus? And now this? I don't know.
Second edition hasn't even been out for two years, let alone have a product delayed longer.

True, But original release was like August of 2020 I believe, so almost a year and a half push if it releases in Jan like Amazon believes

How firm is that date? It could still be pushed out again, correct?
If you are asking about the Absolom book Erik Mona is saying they are hoping/looking for a November release of this year, which would be a 15 month ish total push if they manage it. I hope they do, seriously looking forward to that book.
Amazon has it listed as a Jan 11th release date. Not entirely sure where they get their numbers from but historically when I watch Amazon tends to get closer to the actual dates than not.
Erik's post is on the last page of the product discussion:

My heart goes out to anyone and everyone living paycheck to paycheck. I've been there and know that it isn't easy.
If I may offer one potential solution -- If someone does find themself in a situation where they aren't sure the funds will be available for an upcoming subscription, earlier Franz Lunzer did mention the use of gift certificates. I'd encourage buying gift certificates in the amounts you expected to spend in April/May and then redeem them for store credit. Then go to your Account Settings and then Subscription Settings and make sure it is set up to use store credit. Then when April/May charge it'll use your store credit, and the leftover amount will carry over towards June's "super" subscription.
I realize this isn't a perfect solution, but it should be fairly close to what would've happened if the products shipped out at the regular time (and perhaps, be a little better off if you happen to hit the First $10 shipping discount).
Lastly, as a huge proponent to budgeting I really like YNAB's methodology and I think notably their rule 3 is what separates it as budgeting from other apps that track expenses but never force you to cover those overages. While YNAB does cost money, they have lots of documentation to read through for free including their 4 rules to budgeting. Highly recommend reading and implementing it even if you prefer to use a free service like Mint. I realize this won't be a silver bullet, but i've found budgeting to be one of the best things that I have direct control over.
CorvusMask wrote:Umm I'm still unsure of what I do here since I can't afford "ap books shipping at same time"In an attempt to migitate costs, you could buy a Paizo.com Gift Certificate with the amount you'd pay for this months subscription.
You can then redeem that immediately to receive store credit, which you can use next month to reduce the cost then.
(This works for me, I hope it does for you too.)

I understand that Paizo feel they have to delay the release of digital products for a number of reasons, but I can't help but wonder whether those reasons are actually worth the potential alienation of consumers that not releasing digital products when the physical product is so heavily delayed entails. Obviously I don't have insight to the data that Paizo have, but I for one am feeling like my confidence in Paizo's ability to deliver a product is shaken, which won't be easily restored. I planned to start Fists of the Ruby Phoenix in April, then May... and now it's been delayed to July I don't know if I should plan around Paizo product releases at all! After all, what happens if we get to July and it gets delayed AGAIN?
To clarify: I like Paizo products a lot. They're consistently high quality and that level of quality paired with their frequency of release used to be the biggest selling point for their systems. But between the Absalom book being delayed, what, two years plus? And now this? I don't know. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Paizo make it extremely hard to get hyped for their upcoming releases when we don't even know if they'll ever actually get released.
I can remember the days when we didn't know what was going to be available until we saw it on the shelf at the store. You are entitled to your opinion, but I'll continue to trust Paizo to do what's best for their business as I'd think they'd know it pretty well and I, as a player, really don't know squat about it.

I imagine Terevalis is referring to the June shipment which will include the APs and will therefore complete the original April/May shipment, rather than the regrettably truncated shipment released next week.

From my reading of the list, only Starfinder subscribers are getting love this month,

Talisman's and Potions deck are going out, but other than that I am not getting anything else from the list that just got emailed out.
Street date for tis shipment is June 2nd and hopefully all subscribers will get theirs shipped between the 17th and 28th of may according to the email.

Just as a reminder, please email us (customer.service@paizo.com) if you have concerns about subscriptions/shipping/etc.; these particular delays are entirely out of our control, but we're happy to work with customers to figure out a solution for April-May/June. Email is the best way to contact customer service right now (I know, big change from the entirety of last year).

...
As an author, let me tell you, Amazon sometimes makes those dates up out of whole cloth. I had a book I hadn't officially submitted show up with a release date, and I called my editor in a panic. She assured me that someone probably just did a 'best guess' after it showed up in some database, because they sure as heck didn't send it to them.

Removed some posts and replies, don't assume anyone else's financial situation or shame anyone for the financial situation they may or may not be in.
On another note, I'm trying to balance keeping a light moderator touch on this thread (and these threads in particular) because there's good information here, but also keep things mostly on-topic and friendly. I don't want to censor anyone who's disappointed in the delays/moving around of releases, which is why I (will, once again) highly encourage anyone with personal concerns to reach out to our CS team via email!

So to be clear, there will be no new pathfinder product releases in any line until July, correct? That’s how it seems from looking at product pages
April May will have:
Card Deck Potions and TalismansPawn Box: Bestiary 3
Flip Tiles: Urban Water front
Flip-Mat: Shipwreck
June is currently in flux, but I believe we will see all 3 of the new AP's in June but they are officially 'released' early July. So there is a ven diagram there that I hope doesn't push the AP's into late July with the Battles line.... But you are right that the schedule is showing almost everything in July..... and nothing listed on the official schedule page for June.... I am guessing things will change as products get to the warehouse though.
Here is the June Thread. Not sure why the Release Schedule isn't reflecting the products listed except maybe they have an early July street date?

Starting the order creation for May-pril products!
EDIT: We still haven't fixed the problem with the Paizo Advantage discount not automatically applying to some customer's subscription orders. I have a list of customers who've reported the issue that I'll be going through and manually fixing once the auth is done, so please don't email in regard to that particular problem until I've mentioned I've done so!

So, I have exactly four subscriptions (so that I can qualify for Advantage) and haven't seen any discounts to my four subscriptions when charged...I had thought that I had initially misread the Paizo Advantage and that a discount would only apply to subscriptions over four. Is this assumption incorrect, and should I email Customer Service about it?

Thanks. That's going to be an expensive month for me, from the looks of it. So I am very grateful for the shipping discount!

Auth done, I've fixed the Paizo Advantage for anyone who's reported it to customer service before, but if you're supposed to be getting the discount and it's not shown on your order, please let me know!
NOTE: For those whose orders I've fixed, you'll have two confirmation emails from us.
I guess I haven't noticed if it's been missing previously, but it doesn't look like the Paizo Advantage Discount applied to my most recent order. Let me know if I should hit up CS via email, thanks!

Fixed!
I lost the Paizo Advantage too, but funnily, I have the Legacy one still applying, so I guess there's nothing to do in my case?
On the plus side, the Legacy and standard Paizo Advantage discounts generally don't stack, so you're all set on that front! Just to be on the safe side, I'll add you to my list to double check next time we do an order generation.

Yeah, my case is really low priority, and if one day I lose legacy, I would have lost the standard one anyway. :P
Thanks anyway for the reply! You all do great work, and we (the customers) don't ever thank you enough! :3

For those concerned about budgeting and fluctuations in cost, please know that this is something that is at the forefront of my mind every time we have variations from the usual.
For some people, the lack of a subscription with a book will mean their accessories like maps or pawns end up with higher shipping costs or different VAT. This is complicated stuff, not just for Paizo trying to work out logistics, but for our subscribers, our distributors, and the retailers that carry our products.
Specific feedback about these situations, here or directly to me/customer service is always welcome because being able to provide context about what difficulties customers face when product releases are out of the ordinary is very useful. Keep in mind, we don't always have other options, sometimes we have to go with less ideal solutions.
I've also told my team to do their best to work with the tools we have available to assist folks who might be really struggling with this product release situation. There are some things we can do for customers who find themselves in a rock and a hard place which aren't scalable for all subscribers, and we can work with those individuals on a case by case basis. We are in a much better place to handle this now than we were when we had 1k+ emails in the inbox, so please reach out via email if you need to.

So is it still held up? Have other containers showed up?
Essentially, Paizo is shipping the products they have, and they put together a tentative list of products to ship in June provided the container is released by customs in time. For more info please see this comment as well as the initial posts of June's shipment thread.

Auth for me hit last Thursday and the charge showed up 2 days ago. Still pending though.... here's hoping it leaves the warehouse soon, can use some of the mini's I ordered next weekend :D
