I hope we can rename the Magus class paths because Synthesis reminds me too much of the Synthesis summoner feat (which I hope becomes a Summoner class path)

Know Direction made this comment as well, and I can't remember what they suggested. And I agree with it.

I'd rather see Magus as Fusions and leave Summoners with Synthesis.

EDIT: I guess Assimilation could work for Summoners.

Maybe draw on the 1e nomenclature a bit. Something like Spell Combat Style?

Maybe the Magus fighting styles could be renamed to Synergies instead? It keeps the whole idea of these being combinations of two different skill sets but changes the name to be distinct from Summoner's Synthesis.

While I do like the thought, circumstance bonus and conditional bonus were considered to be too close in the base playtest, so I suspect you'd want to look at a non-S word.

Circumstance and Conditional were too confusing because players would often interact with both at the same time. I think it's fine that two separate classes have feat(ure)s that both start with Sy

I think summoner should get to keep Synthesis, since that was the 1e term for the archetype too.

Call Magus's effect "Martial Thesis" I think, as a play off the Wizard option.

I really like the ring of Martial Thesis. Presuming there's no way of getting it through multiclassing, there's even no way of confusing it with the wizard version.
