It was astutely pointed out that a nanocyte can't currently choose major or minor forms at character creation.
Therefore, please add the following line to Nanite Investment (following the line that reads "This is a numerical value called your nanite investment, and it starts at 0 when you gain your first nanocyte level.")
In addition, when you gain your first nanocyte level, you can invest UPBs (or credits from your starting wealth as though they were UPBs) as part of the process of choosing major and minor forms.

So to make sure I understand what I am reading. At creation, put in amount of credits from starting wealth and that is the character's Nanite Investment.
So the investment then decides what the value of the forms that can be created for the selection of major and minor forms? Also can you pick something that can't make at the moment waiting for either waiting on level (such as picking non Corebook level 2 item) or more credits to add to Nanite Investment?

That's correct.

Currently, you can't. The nanocyte survey does have a question specifically addressing that possibility, however.

The fact that you can't seems to lead to some weird situations. Since you learn your new Gear Array forms at level-up, you won't yet have had a chance to break down an item appropriate for your new level. So you'll effectively always be a level's worth of credits behind in what you can create, won't you?

The whole Major/Minor forms makes no sense to me. Do you pick the specific, say Weapon, you can make? So you say you can make a Tactical Baton and 1 other item of your choice at 1st level.
Can you add fusions? Accessories? Materials? Obviously you can't go off a manufacturer bonus.
What about when you break down an item. Do you add any fusions, accessories, materials to the Nanite Investment pool?

In hopes I understand it. You basically invest starting credits into a pool of UPBs. So for example I could invest all 1000 starting credits into this pool. Then when ever I activate the gear array I get to create items, following all the rules stated, equal to no more than the cost of your pool.
You don’t pick the items when you gain the level. You pick the items when you take on the array.
How does this interact with leveling up? When I hit second level, can I add more to the pool? Is there a hard cap to how much my investment pool is? I understand you can only have so many forms active at once.

From what I understand, you choose the forms when you start play from your starting investment, and then gain forms as you level. The number of major and minor forms is not what you can have at once, it's what you can make with your Gear Array power. Kinda like spells.

That’s what I was intending to get to. I guess the translation got lost. Or a similar outcome.

Yes, it seems that the nanocyte has a good reason to buy expensive weaopon/tech items in SFS and add another 10% while absorbing it every couple of levels starting at 4 if want to have newest equipment possible as can switch out a major and minor form at every level up starting at 5. I like the way they found a solution for increasing the nanite investment because it does feel more like bucket of legos. Start off with one bucket of so many pieces and take them out as wanted to build things then put them back. Want to upgrade so buy a bigger bucket and continue to play as wanted.
It is also one that I am thinking of possibly skipping weapons and just getting cybernetics to try that out.

The range of available cybernetics is not especially great right now.

I know. I still think I will try it as I was thinking of trying to build one that didn't make weapons to see how I could make it work. I want to try just for the playtesting. The idea of being able to form a weapon at any moment is what I love about the class but I want to try and do the other things.
