So I love the new iconic, Korakai. Awesome background, can't wait to play him next time I need a pregen in PFS.

But something struck me that's always a bit jarring about using most of the iconics as PFS pregens - even though he grows up in Absalom, there's no mention of any connection to the society.

As far as I'm aware only Ezren and Fumbus specifically have anything connecting them to the society.

Are there any other published bits of lore / background that explain how Kyra, Valeros, Amri and the others ended up as Pathfinders?

Although it is not stated as such, in the Pathfinder Comic Origins Valeros, Merisiel, Kyra, Seoni, and Harsk are given field commissions by Venture Captain Shiela Heidmar.

And then my normally dour companion shouted "For Taldor!"

He came back later with bruises mumbling something about making the Taco Baron a happy man. I'm sure this would have made more sense to me if I hadn't decided to swap places with my twin sister last Christmas and missed out on our adventures in the first half of the year.
