Interest Check - Harrowing Module 9th lvl Pathfinder 1st Edition

Recruitment

Hello everyone. This is just an Interest Check to see if I should put some effort into this. I find myself with some free time so recruitment could be up as soon as the next few days if I get some interest.

Why The Harrowing? APs take way too long for PbP with few exceptions. This is one of the best rated modules and I believe it is suited well for PbP. I intend to do it Theater of the Mind style without any maps, which should work fine since the maps in this module are not that intricate. It also is for lvl 9 characters and I understand there is a hunger to play characters above lvl 1 as most pbp do not last very long. Also, I have enjoyed using Harrow decks in the Curse of the Crimson Throne and Rise of the Runelords so this is another chance to put it to use.

How Many players? I like to go with 6, understanding I will lose 1-2 almost immediately as I have played enough on these boards (going on like 6 years now with multiple accounts) to see that this is a common occurrence.

What books will you allow? I plan to be generous in resources allowed and may consider some 3pp even, but it should fit the setting. Understand this is an older module also so if you spice things up too much I might have to return in kind.

Thanks for reading, again this is just an INTEREST CHECK so don't be posting with ready made characters just yet I still need to read through the module properly and prepare before I am ready to give out character generation specifics. That being said I will try to answer any questions and post a legit recruitment soon if enough interest is generated.

Aww man, I wish you had decided to do this several months ago as I would have loved to play this module before DMing it and learning all its secrets. Sadly I'm currently in the middle of running it, so all the details are fresh in my head. IMO it's a great module. You get a fun Harrow mini-game, and a bunch of encounters can be resolved without fighting if you're so inclined. It's very sandbox-y with a lot of options for how players want to do things.

To be fair, most threads get a decent amount of interest. I’d just make a recruitment thread and see what happens

Well a few months ago I wasn't on social distance house arrest or I probably would have but I am glad you share my opinion of the module.

You know that hasn't been my experience. There has been several games I have put a lot of effort into setting up a recruitment for and gotten 0 response. I have some other modules in mind though if this one is a bust so there will be a game for sure even if its not this one.

Yeah working from home myself and need something else to break up the monotony.

Well, I have yet to play or make any 9th level anythings in PF1, max I've topped with a PC is 4th level (I usually DM), count me interested.

Got involved in three different pbp's but only one has lasted beyond 2nd level... I check daily, post when it is appropriate. It's Dragons Demand right now. I am not into optimizing, goal of any game is to have fun, and a halfling gooey sorcerer sounded fun at that time (I joined when the elf PC dropped out.)

Definitely have time and imagination for more.

No preconceived builds here, willing to build from the ground up something that the party (whatever it may be) could use to fill any gaps. I'll check back on occasion to see if the GM decides there is interest enough to pursue.

Well it seems enough interest was generated and I found myself with enough free time today. Here is the link for recruitment.Recruitment

I'm definitely interested and am looking forward to more information on the campaign.
