Considering this spell to add to my second level spell slot. Does anyone have any experience with this spell? I'm not the most creative guy I was wondering how people would use this spell in combat?
I wouldn't really count it as a combat spell: it's stationary so at best, it could give you cover. It's an object so the addition of sound isn't a super exciting bonus in or out of combat. The duration difference too isn't much of a concern in combat. IMO, it's be a pretty niche situation that you need the heightened version. IMO, the best use of this would be to avoid combat by hiding [cover an opening with an illusion ans hide behind it or hide a corridor, ect]. I guess you could cover a pit trap of something like that with a 'rug' that's pretty niche too.

One idea is to use it to create fire! Like pretend it's a wall of fire or something of the sort to scare enemies out of some area. Nobody will be foolish enough to try and interact with it to get a save! The lv1 version won't get it realistic enough to work imo.
Could also use it to make a magical portal, or maybe something that would attract enemies to a dangerous spot. It should be enough to make believable water too.
The most straightforward uses work just fine with the lvl1 version, though. Namely creating pits, walls and boxes.

creating pits
I don't know about pits: they aren't exactly objects. More a lack of an object IMO. For instance, I'd say I couldn't Animate Object a pit. They do mention an "illusory waterfall" as an example so it's seems like it covers terrain features as an object so it's kind of up in the air.

In battle, it can be used as a makeshift wall for a pretty low spell level, dividing the battlefield in your favour, act as a road block, provide a place to hide behind ect (as others have mentioned). You could also use it to ‘create’ machines of war, such as a catapult to intimidate the enemy, or things that may distract them, such as making a huge gem appear in the bushes your party is running past, so all of you can make a retreat while your foes argue about the newly found wealth.
There are also uses outside of battle, such as using it to hide your party, or use the illusion as bait for an ambush. Somewhat niche but if you need to describe someone, you could ‘create’ a painting of there image
For level 2 the hour means you don’t need to be as exact in your timing, and the extra time can be used to hide you party even longer or invite the whole district to look at the painting of the guy your chasing (or at a statue of your general awesomeness.) The addition of sounds, touch ect... makes your trickery more believable, both in its use and what you create. Imagine what you can do with the ability to summon a 20 foot burst of a congealed pile of rotting fish guts, which lasts for an hour, as the smell of rotting fish guts, and can’t be ‘Cleaned’, while being able to cast it up to 500 feet away. I mean you would only use this power to attract flies to feed your frog Familiar. Never something petty or evil, like using it in the middle of an important dinner party being thrown by the Baron, the same one whom had you locked up because he didn’t take you attempt on trying to influence him with ‘Suggestion’ with good humour.

Dunno, I imagine this Coyote and Roadrunner style. It's a flat image that looks like a hole placed right on top of the ground. Or is there a different spell for that since it's not an "object"?

Hallucinatory Terrain as I think a pit falls into that: "An acid pool and a pit of burning embers are both examples of hazardous terrain."

This might be possible by creating a three dimensional image on an object to give the perception of depth. In effect, an illusion of an optical illusion on an illusionary 10'x10' piece of paper for instance: I think the difficulty of that though would make it easier to detect.
