Variant multiclassing and skills at arms

Just asking to make sure I understand correctly.
Someone takes the battle mystery and gets skill at arms revelation. If the class didnt have armor proficiencies before, after taking it, he would be proficient with only heavy armor, right?

That is correct. Skill at Arms does not provide medium or light proficiency, and there is no universal rule that would grant them to you because you have heavy proficiency.

Silver Crusade

Wizard with Skill at Arms revelation:

Light Armor: nope, too light.
Medium Armor: eh, too medium.
Heavy Armor: p e r f e c t


While this is technically correct any sane GM will likely house rule it to provide proficiency with light and medium armor. So unless this is for PFS check with your GM.
