Can you talk about the archetypes that require a particular 'rank' in an organization? As opposed to mere membership. I'm assuming those are effectively 'limited' without being called out as such?

All archdevils (page 124).
All demon lords (page 124).
All outer gods and great old ones (page 130).
Walkena (130).
All queens of the night (page 132).
Four Horsemen are legal, woo hoo! (Not really, because they don't have any neutral aligned followers allowed, but it seems like a funny omission.)

So to run an example of a character option I'm looking forward to, and checking if my understanding is correct:
Knight Reclaimant: Requires (in addition to the straight-forward things): 'Knights of Lastwall of knight rank'.
The membership requirements for Knights of Lastwall, look like something that home region should be enough to qualify for ('refugee of Lastwall' at least, the other options might be less simple). But membership doesn't imply 'knight rank'. Or else the pre-req could have been 'member of Knights of Lastwall' -- which is what Lastwall Sentry lists.
Actually reviewing all of LOCG, looks like all aside from the Pathfinder society the archetypes have similar issues:
Firebrand: "second mark member"
Hellnight/Hellnight Signifier: "passed hellknight test"
Magaambyan: Member of 'attendent|conversant' rank, pass entrance exam
Was the intend to allow these (similar to the way the Ka Ritual was granted), or are these intentionally held back as chronicle rewards/boons/etc (and should be listed as Limited)

New sanctioned stuff? Errata patches? Fixes for the "Tien fighter cannot have a katana" problem?
Cyrad finds himself so unable to contain his joy and excitement that he promptly explodes in a cosmic, prismatic shockwave that ruptures the fabric of reality and ushers a new era of existence upon the mulitverse.

they will have a system where you earn points for playing and running. You will spend those points on ancestries. Likely the first few options will be hobgoblin, leshy, and lizardfolk. This will encourage people to play, and more importantly, will encourage people to run games. If you GM you get more points to spend.
Think of it like... Frequent flier miles.
And now society play will be sated until acp starts up and they can start using the races (which are the actually important part)

In the past races like these were limited to players who GM'd conventions. The achievement point system (once online) looks like it'll let anyone get them with points.
PFS has always let you use as many books as you want. The plus one rule is adventure's league (or I'm misreading your post).

Can you clarify the household source rule? If my wife and I are playing at separate tables at a con or a Gameday, do we really need to own two copies of the book or do we just each need to be able to prove that our household owns a copy?
If you aren't playing together and you both are using rules from the same book, you do need separate copies. The GM at each table needs to have access to the rules.
Family members, significant others, or other members of the same household (such as roommates) can share resources if they are playing at the same table, rather than requiring a separate copy of the same book for each person. Members playing at separate tables must each supply their own materials as normal.
That said, one or both of you could have print-outs of the pages you use from the PDF.

Now I just need to get my hands on this Secondary Initiation boon for Knights of Lastwall for a character. If anyone knows how I can get that please let me know.
Thanks!!
I hadn't seen that boon page before I guess—I was waiting for these character options before starting in on PFS2.
But this looks accessible enough. Excited to plan this character.

We tried not to restrict anything that was naturally covered by the rules. The main reason for this is so that we don't have things like happened in PF1 where we had 2 kobold boons and the newer one listed resources that didn't exist when the first was written, so there was effectively a "good" kobold boon and a not-so-good kobold boon.
If we focus our restrictions on the source that we feel needs a throttle of some kind, then charity boons (like the ever-popular Red Mantis Assassin charity boon) don't need to list every resource, they just give you access to the source thing and then you can naturally acquire anything that was gated by access to that thing.
Also, interesting that the World Guide is now part of the core assumption with the Core and Bestiary 1.
This was something I really pushed for and was happy to have the team's support on. In the same way that the core rulebook is the foundation of the entire game and something we want all players to be able pull from, the World Guide is the foundation of Golarion and the options in it all help build our setting and give players pieces of the world to connect to wherever they happen to be playing the game.
|
With respect to the "core" assumption, what is the resolution for players who summon monsters from the Bestiary but do not need the book? The obvious answer would be the GM, but many GMs do not bring their book to games. With the stat blocks being printed in the scenario, we won't have the book for reference. Does the Archive of Nethys become the reference or would this be an exception to the rule that the player does not have to provide the source?

I am absolutely ecstatic that I'm now that much closer to playing my leshy monk. But why the HARD nerf on seedpod? Does this change also affect the leshy from the bestiary? It wouldn't be fair otherwise that he could hit me with a seedpod at 120ft and I'd have to close to 10 to hit him with mine.
Seed Pods was printed without a range, so this reflects upcoming errata from the departments in charge of the Lost Omens books. We've just included the clarification here since this is going up first and that information is important to be able to use the feat.

There's a scenario that grants access. It is...

Very excited to share this with the lodges in my area! I know a lot of my players and GMs have been theory crafting characters from the Lost Omens books for awhile now! Happy news for all!
That said, it looks like aspiring Hellknights in PFS still need their first edition books in order to be legal :-P
Not a complaint - any excuse to share Path of the Hellknight with more people is a welcome one!

Archetypes:
All uncommon organization options are available to members of the associated organization.---
I think that says you don't need to meet the various rank notes.

I know about that one. I was referring to Cyrad's comment that seemed to suggest the blog established a way to gain access to the katana through game rules. I know there has been talk of it being a regional weapon and that access to the region would open access, but I don't see that in the new material.
