Space Goblins.

They are described as pests endemic to Absalom Station, and the monster rules in Alien Archives 1 allows to scale them from CR1 to CR20.

There's even a Goblin Monarch CR20 in the Core rules.

To test the system with my players, I sent them on an inspection mission in the service tunnels of the station, they found gobs stealing copper wires, and it escalated to a full sweep and an elimination campaign.

Add animals, monsters and traps, and each 4 hours session can be another step in the Goblin Genocide ...

Another idea is a missing persons case on the station where people go missing in the spire. It is a documented thing and no one has explored it. You can have all sorts of fun making up what you want down there. I created a xenomorph like batch of npcs to infest the lower spike. I even create a weekly "paper" that had hooks in the news stories.

Not sure yet just how powerful things are in this game, be it monsters or PC's, so some advice in terms of what the players are capable of handling at lower levels would be awesome.

In my experience at low levels a creature CR = player level or lower is going to be a chump. For the most part you can throw a few at them at a time and they'll handle it just fine. Once you get to CR+2 or more, then they become capable of downing and killing PCs during a fight, even without getting lucky.

At higher levels, well built PCs can handle a bit more, but at lower levels I would stick to CR = APL-1 to APL+1 until they get to level three, then start using APL+2 as minibosses and APL+3 as a boss character.

And if you're out of pre-made opponents, jotting down a quick monster statblock from the NPC creation tables is quick and easy.

. . . do spambots actively seek out threads where people have talked about spam?

All signs point to yes, Metaphysician.

...or Lobster Thermidor au Crevette with a Mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.

As for low level ideas: (previously posted) load new players up with level 20 equipment, have the corp they're working for send them somewhere hot. They'd blast apart the opposition like a plasma knife through butter... and then the trap would be sprung. They'd wake up somewhere with no gear, no licenses, and the knowledge that a big old evil corporation that could outfit its goons with level 20 gear wants them dead.

Starting a new campaign and Ive got a few ideas for level 3 onwards, but I'm struggling for inspiration for level 1/2 quests that aren't 'go kill some giant rats'

There is a little promise with some character back story but has anyone got some fun, different ideas? It is a relatively serious world setting. Thanks!

You have any starting point ideas Sergaivid? Where your looking to start them off, or rough style of game?
