OK so since we've got Druid, Ranger and Wizard, I'll play a cleric if Barvo wants to be something other than a cleric, or if he wants the cleric or has a cleric PFS character already, I'll do a Bard.

Toro- level 5 snake ranger Druid chiming in. It's should be fun!

Checking in.

Whoopps, updating my character tonight and realized that I hit lvl6 after last weekend's festivities. Is that ok with everyone?

Grand Lodge

Well, you'd be playing down -- we could go up to the higher tier with level 7 pregens instead I suppose?

Slides/maps

Ok, sorry for the delay. Looks like we are ready.

So I see:

Toro-Druid-6
Kyra-Cleric-4
Ezren-Wizard-4
Harsk-Ranger-4

Am I missing anyone for tier 3-4. I had the first post up on the gameplay, so we can get started.

Grand Lodge

Fort +8, Ref +7, Will +10 AC 17, touch 15, flat-footed 15 // hp 50

I am ok to play down - at this point of his Society career this isn't going to be my superstar character.

Slides/maps

BTW - I will be traveling out of town this weekend for Labor Day holiday, so I will have limited access to post from Friday until Monday night when I return.

Slides/maps

I just realized, I was expecting one more to join your group. As a result I did not scale down this encounter at the start. But we have not heard from the 5th player, so that raises the question.

With only 4 being in the party, there is the option to scale down the rest of the encounters unless you like the challenge (you are APL 4.6 playing tier 3-4). For instance there would have only been one beast in this encounter.

Grand Lodge

Does the scenario assume 5 players? It does seem a little tough, especially with three pregens, which are far from the most optimized characters.

Slides/maps

It is a year 4, so it assumes 6. With 4 (and 3 being pregens) it has the option to be scaled back. My other group has 5 players and slightly lower levels, but finished the combat in 2 rounds.

However, re-reading the exact rules...4+4+4+6=4.5 (rounds to 5, which puts you at mid tier). We are right where we should be.

Full quote...

Quote:

In order to determine which subtier a mixed-level group

of PCs must play in, calculate the group’s average party
level (APL). Divide the total number of character levels by
the number of characters in the party. You should always
round to the nearest whole number.

Starting with Season 4, scenarios are designed for six
characters and contain instructions on how to adjust the
scenario for four-character parties. When the APL of a table
is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario),
a party of four characters must play the lower tier without
any adjustments for party size.
A party of five to seven
characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play
the higher tier with the four-character adjustment.

Aarvid- I'll be traveling for Labor day this weekend as well. My posting will also be slow, so no worries there!

Slides/maps

Driving back this afternoon...should be able to get posts back on schedule this evening.

Scarab Sages

Im away for the weekend, LARPing. So you may auto pilot my character where needed :)

Slides/maps

Ok, thanks Harsk.

Grand Lodge

Ok so... tactics? I'm kind of like... 'TILT! TILT! DRAGON! TILT!' I haven't actually ever fought a dragon, especially not one with the advantage of surprise and already flying above us.

Slides/maps

FYI - I am going to be on business travel to Seattle this week, so my posts might be shorter than usual, depending on my schedule and the hotel connectivity.

Scarab Sages

No worries :)

Slides/maps

I fly back tomorrow so should be able to post longer and update the map.

Slides/maps

FYI, for any of you planning on using this character in the PBP online convention, we should be wrapped up prior to the October 5th start. So feel free to sign up for a slot on the
Paizo Online VC’s PbP Day Event List here.

The Exchange

Half-Goblin

So Toro is a monk/druid- mostly druid. The reason for not having a weapon is because of the change to animal form sooner or later this adventure. From my understanding the weapons don't carry over, I will just be using natural attack.

Grand Lodge

It makes sense -- I just thought you'd have an easier time overcoming DR/Slashing with a scimitar. However, your snake seems to have the thing well in hand, so to speak. Besides, I bet this water lady is a fey, so cold iron mace is called for anyway.

Scarab Sages

Ci is an awesome thing to have :P
My main character has a CI greataxe. 1d20+11 to hit. and 1d12+17 dmg :P

Grand Lodge

There's no kill like overkill, right?

Scarab Sages

Especially if he crits :-P 3d12+51 :-P he's good for 2 things. Intimidate. And making enemies go away. :-P anything else? There's the rest of party.

Slides/maps

Going to be driving today and tomorrow - so might not post until Sunday. We should be good on time. Since most are pregens, I guess Toro is the only one that would need to be done by 10/5 to be available for the Online PBP Gameday. So if you need me to rush, let me know.

Grand Lodge

Fort +8, Ref +7, Will +10 AC 17, touch 15, flat-footed 15 // hp 50

No rush with Toro. While the Online PBP is interesting, I don't think I'll be playing with him.

Grand Lodge

I'd like to apply this chronicle to a character to use in the pbp gameday, so if we could finish it before then I would appreciate it.

Slides/maps

I think the snake will be able to wrap this up literally. If I Do not see a post by tonight, I will fast forward so we can get to the final encounter before Friday.

Grand Lodge

Fort +8, Ref +7, Will +10 AC 17, touch 15, flat-footed 15 // hp 50

lol... well that is what the snake is for. His job is to occupy a bad guy leaving the party to not have to split its firepower. So far... so good. :)

Grand Lodge

That snake could solo these encounters, man, it's a killer!

Grand Lodge

Fort +8, Ref +7, Will +10 AC 17, touch 15, flat-footed 15 // hp 50

True. I am also playing down so that tends to help out a lot as well.
Of course it rolled a 1 on its last combat check, so its not automatic!

Slides/maps

Moving into the last encounter now. With only 4 players, the optional encounter with another Pegasus is skipped (which is good since we are pressed for time).

Slides/maps

I am going to start working on the chronicles for Friday (for those of you on the PFS Online Gameday. Please make your day-job rolls here if you have them.

Also let me know if anyone is slow advancement. And if you are playing a pre-gen, provide me the PFS# of the character you are assigning this to.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Wizard 4

Please apply Ezren's sheet to 64554-4, Raoul Kasabian. Thank you.

And seems Harsk has no day job. :-P

Grand Lodge

Since it doesn't look like my 'Tide of Twilight' game is going to be done by friday, I should apply it to my new cleric instead.

Preform Snake Charm Dance: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Aarvid, are you running any events?

Slides/maps

I volunteered but did not pick up any from the game day, I am wrapping up 3 games tomorrow...so that was plenty. I might run one later in the month.

Grand Lodge

I tried to create a conditional (if this happens, Kyra will do this, if this happens, Kyra will do that) but realized it all depends on how much more damage everyone does and whether the enemies are dead or not.

Slides/maps

Depending on who is playing in the gameday, we may have to rush this last fight. I apologize we are running low on time for a quality finish.

I have recorded the session already, and the certs are printed and scanned (for those of you playing in the Online Gameday). I will try to wrap up tonight and/or summary tomorrow morning.

Hey Harsk - just to be sure, is that your PC "Wreck" or one of the other ones. I am not positive the lookup by number works properly. When I recorded my GM sessions, they went to the wrong PC name.

Scarab Sages

Yup. Hes mine

Slides/maps

I have played with him - he would have been handy in this last fight.
:-)

Scarab Sages

Awesome. Yup. Most fights hes handy . :P

Slides/maps

Ok, a fine finish. Sorry for the confusion on the poison. With 2-3 poison attacks per round, each with ongoing effects and requiring 2 consecutive saves, that was getting too hard to track several days. Thanks for keeping me straight.

Just have the wrap up now. You will need to take care of any ability damage on the 2+ day return trip or it will be recorded on your sheet for next time.

It was interesting running this for two tables simultaneously. In both cases, the dwarf was lured into the water. Otherwise, seemed totally different tracks. That last fight was much tougher than I expected, and that is not even a full strength creature.

I have the sheets ready to go tonight (and make sure once you receive them that they are tracked to the right permanent PC).

Scarab Sages

My fiance played the other dwarf ;) no worries, she didnt give away any spoilers.
2 day trip? thats atleast 2 points healed without magic.
but this is a pre-gen :P

Grand Lodge

Kyra will prepare three lesser restorations each day until everyone is fixed.
