Works for me too.
Mildly annoyed by how lame the Creation Sphere is. Was hoping at some point you would get to make permanent structures so I could mass produce swords or something, or at least speed up the process so it doesn't take months to make a single blade...but nope. SO Creation is useless for my purposes, sadly.
Corrik
Incanter Creation Specialization has a 20th level ability to make one item permanent. So yeah probably won't be able to use that for mass production. Soul Forger magus archetype lets you craft stuff faster. Equipment Sphere also has some crafting with the Blacksmith specializing in it.
Storm Dragon
I looked at some, but the best I could find lets you make raw materials only and the Forge Talent doesn't let you...forge, which makes the name kind of a misnomer, I think. Edit: Fabricate does, though. Hm.
Add on that Advanced Talents need explicit GM permission to take, and it seems a no-go, unless you're cool with it Ash Raven?
Storm Dragon
The Armorist class gets some sort of item permanency - but it's more "look at this shiny pile of stuff I have" rather then "I can make cool stuff and give it away!".
Yeah, I'm already an Armorist (Lingchi Warrior), though my archetype trades out even that much.
I just wanted something that would make it reasonable for my character to have crafted hundreds of Masterwork or better swords
As-is if I make a character with a good Int (let's say 20) and 8 ranks + class skill in Craft (Weapons) I have a +16; it takes me on average (Taking 10) 6 weeks to make a single Masterwork sword. SO I can make about 8 swords a year. Unless I want to make my character an octagenarian (of a humanoid race) it doesn't really work out mathematically. =/
TBF I'm willing to BE an octagenarian so long as I don't have to apply the physical stat penalties/mental stat buffs, but still.

Looks like it's a "Yes" to everyone being able to use Google Drive and Dropbox for game materials like maps and text documents. That's good because it keeps things nice and simple.
Storm Dragon
Have you considered this alternate crafting ruleset? I have used it in some games when people wanted to craft mundane items. It is not realistic, but it speeds things up where PCs can actually craft basic things. Magic crafting will remain unchanged since that can actually have a major impact on player wealth and, by extension, game balance.
I'm cool with most Advanced Talents. Not all, but most.

I can do ranged and melee. Melee might be a bit better, but ranged is still good enough. Being an elf you get the longbow and you can ge shot on the run. So combined with ninja and one feat you can snipe very well being an elf :)
Theoretically you could even use Kitsunes Mystique to feint with shot on the run i guess.
Bard would certainly give you enough different flavor and distinction.
I mean, when i read the recruitment right, everyone has to take a melee class?
Questions:
-Do we get some extra feats?
-How do the AC boni from being a monk or the warrior poet samurai interact with the DR we get?
Storm Dragon
Isgiha is going to be primarily melee, to an extent, with his ranged options being casting based.
Being able to pick up any weapon and use it on the fly makes him a flexible combatant though.
Call him a switch hitter?
Going to nab Mystical Assault so I can chuck a Destruction blast as part of a full attack.
Question RE: OP: Do we get DR in addition to or INSTEAD OF armor?
Coinshot
the melee character I build was going to use warrior poet samurai as well (with bard on the other side). I'm kinda waiting to see how the recruitment shakes out, but if there are a ton of melee characters, I'll likely submit either my ranged character or casting character.
Well one side of the gestalt is a monk or PoW type, so technically everyone can melee pretty well.

It's a good thing that people mentioned the class-restricted gestalt side so I can clear this up before the recruitment. I did not edit in a few of the options because of the hour-long edit window. Those options are:
*Psion, Wilder, Psychic Warrior, Soulknife, Marksman, and Vitalist from the Psionics books.
* Wizard, which must specialize in an Elemental School. Wizards must also list four Taboos. If you violate a Taboo, you cannot prepare spells until you ritually cleanse yourself at a shrine with a rite that takes eight hours and offerings equal to 2,500 GP for every five levels you possess. Taboos must be reasonable things that actually restrict you as a character. You may have to wear red or wear anything but red, refrain from touching or being touched by corpses, have a restricted diet, et cetera.
* Oracle, which has limitations on what Mysteries can be selected. The Mysteries I am allowing are: Ancestor, Bones, Dragon, Elemental, Flame, Heavens, Life, Lore, Lunar, Metal, Nature, Solar, Stone, Volcano, Waves, Wind, Winter, Wood, Moon, and Void. Oracles also have to list four Taboos like the Wizard. Please refrain from making an Oradin build. That combination has been done to death in gestalt. I'm not disallowing it, but that combination is really low on my interest and you'd have to sell it real hard since I have seen it in all but two gestalt games I have ran or played in.
* The Omdura class from Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Niobe. I was just reminded that this class existed after I browsed d20PFSRD looking for the list of Oracle Mysteries and saw it there.
* Spiritualist is an option for the locked gestalt side if you are a Mantled Shinigami.
* I am willing to entertain the idea of other classes, but only if they have a clear Eastern archetype. I did say that I would entertain the idea, not that it's a 100% sure thing I will allow it. A lot of the archetypes from Legendary Games Asian Archetypes line fit the bill for what I am looking for along with many from Heroes of the East 1-4, Heroes of the Jade Oath, and Dragon Tiger Ox Wuxia/Wushu Source Book.
Hayato Ken
No extra feats.
You don't get DR from your AC or AC Bonus, you get DR with armor. It's my way of balancing things since I added in a class-based unarmored AC bonus. It makes heavily-armored martials as effective as those who are unarmored. They just play differently because unarmored characters will- in most cases- have higher AC, but armored characters will have decent AC and DR/- to reduce any damage they do take.
Here are two samples of how DR is calculated with armor.
Full plate is +8 AC. 50% of that is translated into DR as DR4/-.
A +5 Haramaki has a total AC of 6, 5 of which is granted through the enhancement bonus. In most cases, it will give DR3/-. If the magic in the armor is negated through antimagic or effects that ignore enhancement bonuses, that DR bonus will drop to 1- the minimum DR/- possible from armor.
Storm Dragon
DR is only gained if you are wearing armor and it's equal to 50% of the armor's AC bonus, rounded down. You lose the innate class-based AC bonus while wearing it.
Forgeborn are something I might or might not allow. There is some tech in the setting and I can appreciate characters that are part machine in anime. I'm not so sure that a fantasy cyborg is to my tastes for this game though. Want to try and sell the idea? It's a longshot, but you can try to.
Storm Dragon
The basic idea is I was a dwarf or a human and was horribly injured in combat, then reforged my own body into basically a man-golem of iron and steel.
Think Franky from One Piece, but not comedic.
My question Re: armor was more along the line of "Does armor grant an AC bonus at all"? The Armor as DR optional rules from Ultimate Combat replace all of an armor's bonus to AC with DR instead, not in addition.
Storm Dragon
Storm Dragon
I'll rule no on Forgeborn. Dwarves are also not in this Tian Xia since you mentioned those as well. I am limiting races to keep the flavor distinctly Eastern with an anime touch.
Which races are allowed?
Edit: Ah, found it. Everything 1st party is fair game except for Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes, and Orcs? Neato.

Also Planetouched are out I think Storm Dragon
You sure? Specific homebrew Aasimar variants were mentioned.

Tao didn't modify himself, though.

From the GM:
Sylphs don't exist in the setting. None of the planeborn do. There are Spiritfolk which, if you pick the Air subrace, are functionally identical in flavor and similar in mechanics.
I think that the GM is referring to Ifrit / Oread / Undine / Sylph as the Elemental Planeborn races that are not allowed. Looks like the GM has either an exception for the Aasimar race, or has created homebrew variations of Planeborn races (like Spiritfolk / Aasimar variants) for use in this setting.

Finished up my Human Psychokineticist Chaokineticist / Cleric (Divine Paragon) of Tsukiyo.
I'll hold off on posting her just in case recruitment throws up any creation curve-balls but shes basically done. Kinda bummed that there isn't really a tattooist cleric archetype so I'll probably take (Craft Tattoo) and go from there.

GM, another question on a martialist class technique.
Einhander (Ex): Some martialists learn how to best fight
with one weapon, using their empty hand to balance. The
martialist gains Dodge as a bonus feat. As long as the martialist uses only one weapon to attack and has one free hand, he deals an extra half of his Int modifier (rounded down) in damage when using a finessable weapon. This extra damage is multiplied on a critical hit.
How would you rule this when a martialist uses unarmed strikes?
Would the technique be limited to one single attack, or would a duo of unarmed blows with elbows/legs count as 1 weapon for this?
Hayato Ken
@GM that sounds good. The DR would get too high else anyway. Does it stack with a barbarians or other DR?
Here's a link to a conversion ofEberron Warforged for Pathfinder.
Since they are magicaly created constructs, that could perhaps work in this world instead of the forgeborn.
My character idea is something like an elven fey knight (taking the order of the blossom along with warrior poet and ward speaker archetypes for the samurai, scaled fist for the unchained monk and ninja with light steps at level6 to have a very mobile skirmisher kind of character).
Storm Dragon
Eh, I don't think the issue was magically created or not (Forgeborn are as well) but the idea of a golem-man being less thematic than most other racial options for the setting, which is cool.
It was more of a passing idea for me than a real attachment; I could use the extra Skill Focuses for my Skilled Casting drawback anyway.
caster4life
Sounds very cool but I feel I am a bit late to the party to catch up on all of the setting and table rules. You all have a good time now.
If you get this thing rolling and need a replacement player, feel free to let me know, though I imagine you will have many to choose from. I'm happy to fill any role and have a pretty good amount of experience running and playing successful gestalt games on play-by-post.
GM: I don't know how much experience you have on other boards but your profile seems new to Paizo. If you want to chat at all about what makes a play-by-post game or a gestalt play-by-post game (which is a special kind of challenge) work well, I'm completely open to that. But you might have lots of ideas/experience too so go forth and have fun.

I want to advocate for the possibility of characters that aren't strictly Asian in flavor, especially if you yourself are not Asian or if a player is not knowledgable about different cultures from Asia. In real life, there have been immigrants for thousands of years, even to the far East. In a world with globe-spanning teleportation and immigrant species from other planets and dimensions, I think playing a character with familial ties to the Inner Sea is totally reasonable.
If you think about dwarves, they came from deep underground. They don't care if there's an ocean in the way. Elves came from another planet through portals. Gnomes are exiles from another dimension. Orcs came with the dwarves.
Depending on your answer I have a concept to propose: a character whose family were once Pathfinders, but when the world broke their Lodge became isolated. Out of a job, they became scholarly locals instead of meddling foreigners. The character would have been raised as a reader, and would be a smart, cunning, eager archaeologist, spelunker, and scholar. The character works as a cartographer, re-drawing maps and rediscovering displaced populations (usually "monsters").
I would be using bard (chronicler of worlds)/mystic (aurora soul).

The recruitment should go up the day after Thanksgiving assuming there are no hang-ups.
I am holding firm on racial restrictions. This is not vanilla Golarion and the entire point of me making the Great Sundering a thing was to turn the admittedly-good kitchen sink setting into several settings. If something goes against the flavor of whichever setting is used, I'm not allowing it.
Human
Elf
Half-Elf
Catfolk
Hobgoblin
Ratfolk
Vanara
Aasimar
Dhampir
Tengu
Tiefling
Changeling
Kitsune
Merfolk
Nagaraji
Samsaran
Wayang
Third-Party
Elan (Ultimate Psionics)
Bakemono (Heroes of the Jade Oath)
Hushen (Heroes of the Jade Oath)
Shenxue (Heroes of the Jade Oath)
Yueren (Heroes of the Jade Oath)
Eiremian (Bloodforge: Esoteric Energies)
Ethumion (Bloodforge: Esoteric Energies)
Henge (Kaidan Campaign Setting)
Homebrew
Mantled Shinigami
Spiritfolk
All class changes for locked gestalt options apply even if you take them on the non-locked side.
Alma the Soulborn
I will provide a list of Taboos. There is no official source. The old 3.5 Wu Jen class is what I drew the idea from, so that might give you an idea on where to look for ideas in the meantime.
Einhander seems to be inspired by the sword art of the same name. As such, I will rule that it does not apply to unarmed strikes.
Hayato Ken
The armor DR does stack with existing DR.
Warforged are not allowed. The full race list is in the spoiler on this post.
Redblade8
Nagajor is one of the nations with the fewest changes. The fact that Nagaraji are described as being tradition-bound and extremely orderly was part of the reason for that decision. The Nagaraji use that as an example of why their way of life is superior to most; while the other nations underwent several violent changes, their nation has remained more or less the same over the past few millennia.

This isn't the actual recruitment. It will be posted after Thanksgiving. You are welcome to apply once it goes up.
I have ran games before offline and gestalt was my specialty. I read up on Doomed Hero and Painlord's guides on play-by-post, so I think that I have things more or less figured out. If you have any extra advice outside of those, please message me so I can be as informed as I can be.
leinathan
I'm not sure what being Asian or not has to do with in-game decisions. I am aware that the Silk Road existed in the real world and that immigrants were common in some Asian countries like China.
That said, this is a fantasy world and Golarion has long since ceased to be as a singular world. If you want an in-game explanation on why some races aren't in the game, they have just went extinct in Tian Xia. Most of the normal fantasy races had such low population numbers that millennia without outside access to the rest of Golarion ended up with too low of a viable population to reproduce.
Jereru
Thanks for putting up that list. I don't expect it to still be accurate after the recruitment goes up, but it is nice to see a rundown of ideas.
