So, there’s a mysterious, faceless stranger who appears at random in the Brass Bazaar to sell extra dimensional guns. Somebody snuck a Destiny Reference into the game.

The core rulebook does cite Destiny as one of their inspirations. Whoever plays Destiny 2 on the dev team, I would happily play some Gambit or Scourge of the Past with them.

Honestly, an extradimensional visitor from a completely different cosm is. . . the kind of thing that should not only be unsurprising in Starfinder, but kind of expected. ;)
