Ruinor listens to the thug, a look of disgust coming across his face as he hears about the bodies. "We may have to pull the bodies out to see if we can determine who they are. I vote for Orovan, he's strong enough to pull them out," he says with a sly smile as he looks over at his companion at the bar.


When the putrid bodies are removed from the barrels, it is apparent they were killed by lots of slashing and stab wounds. None of the corpses have anything of value on them or any form of identification.

"We looted them bodies 'fore we stuffed in 'em in the barrels." says the captive. "They had these funny compasses on 'em. Looked a lot like that one..." he says pointing at someone who has their Pathfinder wayfinder showing.

G4 - Dining Room - Around the corner from the salon is a grand dining room. A long, oval dining table is the centerpiece of the area while high-backed chairs wooden chairs surround the table. Fancy china cabinets stand in two corners of the room.

G6 - Stairs - A curved flight of highly polished stairs lead up to the second floor.

G9 - Kitchen - A cobblestone hearth stands at the center of this well-stocked kitchen. The walls are lined with prep counters. A row of full water barrels stands behind the hearth.

G10- Kitchen Storage Room - This pantry contains bags of flour, canned goods, and small barrels of potatoes, onions, beets, and apples. Its contents lie in disarray; blood-stained piles of flour create pink smears on the floor that lead to the northern wall which holds a shelf of mostly broken spice jars.

When he hears that wayfinders were found, Ruinor asks the thug "Do you still have the compasses? Often they are inscribed with the names of the Pathfinder who owned it." He inspects them if they are available.

He then follows the group around the first floor, casually looking around. As the group leaves the storage room preparing to go upstairs, he glances into the room, and does a double take.

"Silverback, my friend, I fear that your eyesight is going in your old age. Did you notice the trail of blood leading to the wall? I think it's obvious, even to the most casual observer, that the room needs to be investigated more thoroughly."

With that, Ruinor enters the storage room to inspect the northern wall with the shelf, looking for a secret door. Take 20 + 4 = 24.

"Eh, my eyesight going? Nonsense! I saw the trail of blood, clear as crystal. Now...just lead the way to it and I'll follow you..." he mutters as he looks around intently for any blood.


The thorough search of the pantry reveals a catch for a secret door behind on of the broken spices jars. Flipping the catch slides a panel open which reveals stairs descending into a hidden basement.

Dusty stone steps descend into darkness, curving around themselves, and blocking the view of the floor below. Numerous footprints of varying sizes show that this passage was used recently in both directions.

Silverback's head bobs up and down and he follows Orovan down the stairs, his tome glowing brightly.


As Orovan descends the stairs to the basement, he gets about halfway down and hears an audible click. Before he can think Uh-oh, spikes project from all the stairs, likely hitting anyone on the steps. Orovan, Silverback and Maximilian are all in the line of the puncturing spikes. Orovan is able to avoid injury, but Silverack and Maximilian take 4 hp dmg each.

I know Orovan is first and Silverback decries himself second. I will randomly choose who is the third person on the stairs. Attacks are vs FF AC.

After the trap fires, the group finds themselves in a basement foyer. Several doors lead into other rooms. Extinguished torches hang on the walls. Blood smears the floor in small, footprint-sized blotches with a larger pool trickling under the central doorway in front of you.

Did the thug have any of the wayfinders still?

The smug smile on Ruinor's face from finding the secret door is replaced by a grimace as Orovan sets off the trap. "I knew we needed someone in our group who could find a trap, before setting it off that is." He continues down the stairs and waits for Orovan to open a door.


Each of the downed thugs was carrying a wayfinder. There are names on them, but none of them mean much to you. None are the target of your search Skeldon Miregrold.

I assumed you held him somehow. Tieing him up in the first floor works for me. Hopefully you make it back to bring him to justice...

The door opens into a chamber overflowing with dusty relics of the past, some prominently displayed on shelves and pedestals, others piled haphazardly in crates, jars, and scroll cases. A massive stone idol looms in the corner, its fiendish eyes sparkling with crimson beryls. An intricately woven Kelish rug, carefully rolled, leans against a shelf displaying ancient weapons from throughout Golarion. A somber pipe organ rests against the far wall, its keys and pedals wet with fresh blood.

Near the organ, a lifeless body lies crumpled on the floor, riddled with a dozen stab wounds. A pile of rags lies on the piano bench.

You hear a small girl's voice whisper from behind the big idol, "Help me! Someone is trying to hurt me!"

From the doorway, Bernard and the rest cannot see anything different in the room than previously described. Orovan hears something wrong in the voice, like perhaps it is a trick of some kind, but before he can say anything, Maximilian shoulders bravely past and enters the room looking for the girl.

Maximilian:
Please make a DC 14 Will save. You hear the faint sound of magic reading from behind the piano, but will only be able to act on it if you make the save.

Orovan calls out to Max, but the Varisian skald is already in the room. Suddenly, Max straightens up and heads right for the pipe organ, sitting himself calmly on the bench. Cracking his knuckles once, he begins to play, the tones echoing through the lodge basement.

Max, need a DC 10 Perform check to play the organ. Can be made untrained if you don't have the skill.

I assume it would be Perform (keyboard) specifically... Max is trained in oratory (+12) and song (+5) but not any instruments.

Perform (untrained): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 don't suppose it's a masterwork pipe organ to give the +2 circumstance...?


Max sits at the bench of the large organ, and altough he doesn't really know how to play, he jumps right in, playing teh opening chords of an operatic aria. From behind the organ, a sweet and resounding voice begins to sing along with the notes. As all of you, except Max, watch with fascination, a tiny sized girl, no bigger than a doll really, steps out from behind the piano. She looks for all the world like an innocent human girl wearing a bright red dress and a red bow in her hair, and holding a tiny stuffed bear.

The doll/girl seems to be singing along with the aria, the sound almost enchanting in its beauty, but then Max, who has no training on the organ, hits a series of wrong notes and the girl breaks off her signing. "I said play it right!" she screams turning her fierce gaze on the player. "I had to kill the last one because he couldn't play it right. I'll kill you too if you keep messing it up!" The innocent girl face becomes a mask of hatred and rage and suddenly a knife appears in her hand.

While the others watch in horror, the outraged tiny doll tries to sink its knife into the back of the charmed Maximilian. The dagger is small enouhg to be of little danger to Max, but it does bruise him, leaving a nasty mark.

Seeing the others for the first time, the doll/girl pouts, "Leave us alone! The show isn't ready for an audience until I get my accompanist better trained." She casts a spell targeted at Orovan.

Silverback steps in the room and sends a ray of fire across the reliquary aimed at the tiny dagger in the doll's hand. She throws the dagger to ground before it can singe her skin.

Bernard fires from the doorway, hitting the doll with a crossbow, and while the missile leaves a mark, it doesn't do full damage.

Orovan needs a DC 13 Will save. Max can make a DC 14 Will save, to break the suggestion, otherwise another Perform check. Need an action from Ruinor still as well.

Orovan is able to shake off the charm spell from the doll and is able to act normally in this round.

Ruinor and Orovan up, Max needs a DC 14 Will save to break the spell on him.
