Who is the most powerful demon lord?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Not counting Lamashtu who is actually a god. I know Pazuzu is ONE of the most powerful but probably not the most.

I'd suggest Jubilex, at least in some sense. It's told to have already swallowed and digested a demon lord before it became a demon lord himself - in fact that's how it achieved his current rank. It's now even more powerful than it was back then, and my guess is that in a direct confrontation it could just engulf and absorb any other demon lord, and probably many true deities as well.

Thing is, it's still an almost mindless entity, with only rudimentary intelligence. As such, it can be easily outsmarted by other demon lords, which, given an opprotunity, would likely be able to find a way to contain him or even use him for their own purposes. Jubilex would only win easily if you somehow locked it and another demon lord in an empty open arena, from where they cannot escape or get any help.

Thus, you need to clarify what you meand by "power". For some demon lords (like Zevgavizeb) power is their personal physical strength. For others (like Deskari) its the number of their demonic followers. For others (like Nocticula) it's their cunning and an ability to notice the best moment to strike. They are all difficult to compare, unless in specified situations.

I feel like Nocticula is next up for godhood.

That appears to be true as of the Wrath of the Righteous and Return of the Runelords APs, but I am not sure that is a measure of power vs character (and authors) intent. Rather, she has a good storyline for play purposes...

Pathfinderwiki ( https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Demon_lord ) lists the following as exceptional.

Abraxas Master of the Final Incantation, Lord of Magic and Forbidden Lore
Angazhan The Ravener King Lord of Apes and Jungles
Baphomet Lord of Minotaurs, Lord of Labyrinths and Beasts
Cyth-V'sug Prince of the Blasted Heath, Lord of Fungus and Parasites
Dagon The Shadow in the Sea Lord of the Sea and Sea Monsters
Deskari Lord of the Locust Host, Lord of Locusts and Infestation
Gogunta Song of the Swamp, Lord of Boggards and Swamps
Kostchtchie The Deathless Frost Lord of Giants and Cold
Lamashtu The Mother of Monsters Lord of Madness and Monsters
Nocticula Our Lady in Shadow, Lord of Darkness and Lust
Orcus Prince of Undeath, Lord of Necromancy and the Undead
Pazuzu King of Wind Demons, Demon Lord of Winged Creatures and the Sky
Shax The Blood Marquis Demon Lord of Lies and Murder
Socothbenoth The Silken Sin Lord of Perversion and Taboo
Zura The Vampire Queen, Lord of Cannibalism and Vampires

Traditionally, in D&D history, the demonic powerhouses have been Orcus, Grazz't and Demogorgon. But mostly they have been written out of PF lore, to minimize possible conflicts with WOTC IP.

I would put Cyth-V'sug as one of the most as he has a pretty big role in Golarian history and his realm is a ball of fungus the size of a planet. Has anyone made stats for him (official or fan made)?
