Devil Forgemaster

Advice

One of my favorite games out there is Castlevania - Curse of Darkness. A goal of mine has always been to recreate that kind of character in a d20 format, and I feel pathfinder would be the best match.

Key Abilities:
- Versatile Martial Proficiency with numerous weapons and armor
- Able to create and improve upon the designs of devils as they are used
- Master Blacksmith
- Dextrous and able to dodge attacks by maneuvering around

20 pt. buy
Any race
Any paizo, only paizo

So far, classes I see somewhat pulling the above off is a Summoner, or a martial class able to craft golems.

Edit: summoner with evolutionist might be the closest option to what I'm aiming for.

I'd think about construct rider alchemist. Seems a lot more of the 'crafter' feel that you want. Isn't super great on the weapon proficiency and bombs might not work for your theme.

Eldritch Guardian Fighter with a mauler familiar, particular if you take evolved familiar might work for your devil design idea, and certainly all kinds of weapon options. The shared feats also is 'improving' your companion. There are other options using familiars instead of devils as well.

The Raven Master Ranger, with a bit of reskinning, would make an interesting option. Having the Raven look like a devil, without any change of stats might be ok with your GM. At 7th level it looks metalic in any event. Add in craft construct and you could have other minions as well.

Shadow Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Spheres of Power is perfect for this. Especially the Conjuration Sphere. I suggest Mageknight to have the same combat ability.

Spheres of Power.

You'll be able to customize multiple companions.

Any way to reconstruct the familiars and companions? Reliably and on a regular basis.

Edit: holy crap, contracts and adjustable custom summons. I'll see if I can use that. Thank you so much!

Spheres of Power is a fun system, but it is 3rd Party so if you are only Paizo it won't work for you.

I know, but it's worth bringing up, so we'll see.

Shadow Lodge

Need to be careful though, since it takes standard actions to concentrate on keeping the Summons out, or spending Spell Points(which you only have a limited number of).

If you use Psionics you can use the Astral Construct Summon to create a minion off of a Menu.

First of all, heck yeah Curse of Darkness!

Second, just play a summoner. Its the best fit for the character-concept and allows you to do just about everything Hector can.

In the instance my DM doesn't allow for the spheres of power, how might I make Evolutionist a viable option with the whole martial prowess thing? I was thinking I could later use evolution points for weapon proficiency, hence the whole Hector "gaining power as you harnesses the power of the forgemaster."
