New Trailer

Sweet!!! Spider-ham gets his big screen dabut! :D *squeee*

Liberty's Edge

Wow ... what the heck was that???

Marc,

It was what I hoped it would be: AWESOME! :D

Liberty's Edge

Yikes ...

Different strokes and all that, I guess.

It's kind of how imagined Spider verse might be... had it not had the Inheritors involved.

When my family gets together for Christmas, we go see a movie, and this year, Into the Spiderverse looks to be the movie we'll see.

Kahnya,

We do this for New Year's.

Christmas movie is a tradition in our household as well, but this year it's likely to be Aquaman (I am stoked on the Spiderverse movie but there is zero chance my parents will ever see a animated movie)

Saw the trailer when I went to see Venom. Actually looks cool. Also got an Easter egg of it, it definitely feels like a Spider-man comic on the big screen.

Lathiira,

My feeling was this kind of how they might have written Spider-verse IF they had dropped Morlun and his family as the primary antagonists. Everything else is VERY much comic book wise Spider-verse.

That's the vibe I'm getting too. I'm now curious as to what the story will be overall i.e. who's really behind all this. Wouldn't mind if Jessica Drew made an appearance though either.

Looks awesome.

The animation is incredible, the cast is amazing (John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir), it nails the tone of Spider-Man across the multiverse.

I'm down to see Miles Morales as the primary protagonist of a movie.

Can't wait to see it. Love the Fries Dimensional Cosmology! :)

Hey uh, I caught this last night and it is worthy of all praise that can be heaped upon it. The animation? Incredible! The performances? Top. Notch. The story? Emotional, thrilling. The comedy? Hilarious! The action? Kinetic, frenetic and elastic.

This movie should win Most Spiders-Man award, as it has per minute the most Spiders-Man of any movie ever made in history!

Go see this movie, it exceeds the hype.

Does Anya Corazon appear in it at all?

Saw this at a screening last week and next to Spider-Man 2 it's EASILY my FAVORITE Spider-Man movie.

I would watch a movie about ANY of these characters, Spider-Gwen, jaded Peter Parker, Spider-Man Noir (who despite his deadpan delivery generates quite a few laughs), Penni Parker and Spider-Ham. FRIGGING SPIDER-HAM. There's HUGE fight near the end of the movie where SPIDER-HAM just HANDLES (hilariously) one of the bad guys. I was smiling so hard during this movie that my face hurt. This is a heartfelt, at times somber and mostly FUN Spider-man movie and I'm here for this. Seeing it again this weekend.

She doesn’t but hopefully she’ll appear in the rumoured Spider-Women spinoff.

Just saw it, and I thought it was as good as Lego Batman (which I consider to be one of the best Batman movies out there).

Also, (to put kind of a somber mood on this thread for a moment), I have to say that while none of us wanted to say goodbye to Stan Lee, this was the most thematically fitting movie to coincide with it. The movie says goodbye to (one universe's version of) Spider-man, while saying hello to another, reminding us that tragedies will always be a part of life and never a permanent part, that there's always a tomorrow with something to look forward to.

I saw this a few days ago, and it really is an excellent film. I would definitely watch more "spiderverse" style films

This looks so good. I hate that I have to wait to see it.

Word is the sequel is already in the works, with Gwen and Miles as leads and also featuring Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman and Cindy Moon/Silk (no offense to Miles, whom I like a lot, but I'd rather see Anya Corazon instead).

Also interesting:

Most significantly, their (Sony's) deal for animated Spider-Man movies has no restrictions in the same way their live-action deal with Marvel Studios does.

Slaadi,

Personally I'd rather see more of either Miguel (though in a different costume, as his more recent one was cooler) and/or Spider-Punk (Hobie Baker). Though having Jessica Drew and Cindy Moon wouldn't be bad. Anya is meh since she's never been that good as Spider-girl compared to May Parker.

Loving Spouse and I just saw it today.

Wow.

That was an amazing piece of work. It was obvious that everyone front-facing (voice talent, script, direction, visuals) was having a whole lot of fun with it. They did about the best job I've ever seen consistently capturing the look and feel of a comic book (down to the animation texturing) without being chained to the medium.

Oh, and the Stan cameo? ALL THE FEELS, man. All the feels.

The feels are great. What I love most is Spider-ham. :D

I keep saying I'm done with Spider-Man movies, I'm sick of Spider-Man movies, yes I loved him and his Amazing Friends as a child, but there are too many damn Spider-Man movies, and WTF is up with all these frickin Spider-Mans? SPIDER-MAN BURNOUT, MAN. BURNOUT.

And the last day it was in my local theater, I ended up as a last minute snap decision seeing it.

And holy s~*# it was all these frickin Spider-Mans and IT WAS THE BEST SPIDER-MAN THING I EVER SAW.

Also, I cried like an orphaned child at Stan Lee's scene. I first heard his voice as a child watching Spider-Man cartoons.

Anyway, it was absolutely amazing.

And now I can officially stop watching Spider-Man movies. I don't need them anymore, this was perfect.

Nominated for an Oscar.

For which I sincerely hope it wins because it's clear Black Panther won't be getting any huge prizes at this time.

We finally checked this out a month or so ago, and man was it worth it. This is hands down the best comic book movie ever. It's not the best superhero movie or best Marvel movie, but it captured the essence of comic books in a way no other movie has. Plus it was a damn good story by itself.
