While we're waiting, what does everyone think of the Special Edition Cover? It says products can change at the bottom so I don't know if it's final. I like the art on the standard hardcover the best so far, but that notebook could drag me in like some kind of eldritch thing.
I plan to purchase a copy of the Standard cover and one of the Deluxe cover. Standard I will use in our playtest, the Deluxe I will have signed from Paizo (at Gen Con). :)

Hey the Special Edition says it has a 'bound-in cloth notebook', does that mean an additional blank notes section within the book? Or a small side notebook? Maybe there will be more photos once the order page gets put up?
That got scrambled—it should say "bound-in cloth bookmark." Will fix.

Seems to be working now. What is "Amazon Standard Delivery" as a shipping option?
From the FAQ on the preorder page:
We are working with Amazon.com for fulfillment because the volume of preorders is going to be very high. As part of this process, Paizo will share pertinent order information with Amazon.com in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Pathfinder Playtest preorders will ship from Amazon.com fulfillment centers in Amazon.com shipping boxes, but these orders will not appear in your Amazon.com order history. Paizo is providing customer service for all preorders—do not contact Amazon.com, as they will be unable to assist you.

So as you said Paizo will be providing the customer service for these items, if we order through Paizo rather than Amazon, presumably we'll be in better hands in case of damaged shipments?
I just ask because I have received some battered books from Amazon centers, and I know with the Playtest being 'printed to order' third party retailers probably won't have replacements available.

Correct—Paizo will handle replacements for paizo.com preorders.
Vic, has the problem with the binding been resolved? The Starfinder CRB (both standard and deluxe versions) had some serious issues with the pages pulling away from the binding of the book.
With this being a one-time only print, there won't be an opportunity to fix the problem. I plan to have my Deluxe version signed and would hate to see problems with the binding on the playtest version of the book(s).

Our printer did fix that problem for the second printing of the Starfinder Core Rulebook. But the playtest materials are actually being printed by a different printer.
Ok. Hopefully the printer used in Canada is to the same quality as your prior books. They all have been real solid up until the first printing of Starfinder.
Got mine preordered, pick up at Gen Con.

Im trying to place a pre order to Canada and it wont let me change from 'convention pick' up and it isn't charging shipping and handling.
Am I doing something wrong?
On Tab 2 (Shipping), click the "Change Shipping Details" button. You should see an Amazon Standard Delivery option to click. (If you have already entered an address that isn't the one you want, you should then have a "Select Another Address" button.)

Would have been nice to have other local amazon branches also as delivery options.
More than 25$ shipping just doesn't cut it for me. amazon.de isn't offering the flip maps and the deluxe pack. So only get the basic rulebook and adventure from them, but with free shipping.
I had hoped that the improved shipping options would have also taken the fans on the rest of the world into account.
