Versatile Weapon and Permanency

Rules Questions

Simple question.
I know Versatile Weapon came out after Permanency,so it couldn't have been in the original list that could be affected by Permanency.
Question: Can Versatile Weapon be affected by Permanency?

No, it can't.
Spells that came out after the core rule book specifically mention if they can be affected by permanency.

If they don't say "this spell can be made permanent by casting permanency" or something along the lines, then they can't.

Bummer. Thanks for the info.

By RAW, no. If you're not playing Pathfinder Society, talk to your GM, they might work with you. If you ARE playing PFS, no. Rajnish is 100% correct. Take a look at the Create Demiplane spells for specific examples of what you'd be looking for.

If you're NOT playing PFS, he might let you enchant the weapon as-if making a Wondrous Item and, while not being permanent, allow X-per-day castings of it (Something my GM would allow.)

Eh, get a wand. You only need it when you need it, and that way you can pick which bypass you need each time. By the time you use it 50 times, you'll have better options.

For metals, at least, there's also Weapon Blanches (in Alchemical Creations). They're a LOT cheaper than the spell, even in a wand.

Don't those only work for one attack (or 10 arrows/bolts/whatever)?

I'm picturing carting around twelve longswords so you can get several rounds of full attack now. : D

At that point, you might as well just keep a bunch of weapons of different metals and such. :P

I'll be entirely forthright about this, though. Make it a +5 weapon. Is that expensive? Yes, it's a 50K enchantment. But that permanently bypasses Cold Iron (+3), Silver (+3), Adamantine (+4), and all alignment-based DRs (+5). The key downside is the cost. But there's ways around even that. For example, you can quest for it (even in PFS). You can have a mage that can make Magical Arms and Armor, either in your party or an NPC who owes you a favor (gotta be one hell of a favor, though, to owe you a month or two at no pay). If you're NOT playing PFS, getting your paws on an Artisan (third party class, WICKED for building things.) You can also steal one. There's a number of spells that CAN be made permanent that would prevent scrying.
