So, i don't know if i'm doing it in the right section, but i wanted to introduce myself.
I started gaming on 2006, using Dungeons and Dragons 3.5th edition, with some friends, just for fun. We didn't know very good the rules, and often we did improvise just to keep the fun, and let's say that start made me discover a passion i currently own!
In 2012 we started Pathfinder, with a GM at his first experience ever, in a homebrew campaign that we're currently playing.
I concurred creating part of the world around us with my Background, and that makes me proud of it.
Now, i've never been good at optimization, so, God bless Google, looking for advice on "how to" i find out this forum.
Hoping to learn and eventually help somehow, Happy to be here!
Gen

Welcome to the forums, bathrooms are down the hall, rules questions require the following waivers in triplicate. Snacks can be found in the lounge, but watch out for the goblins they bite.

Welcome to The Boards!
Ask if you have trouble finding the right Forum for this/or/that question or comment or story or joke or gossip or idea or favorite adventure, blah blah blah.
If you have the time and want to, you can start a Thread in the Campaign Journals Forum and you and your group can post what's been going on, what plans the PCs are thinking of executing, all kinds of stuff you can reference during the week between your gaming sessions.
'Hide' the Forums you don't plan on using often and the Messageboards become quite a bit easier to manage.

Short answer: stick with the Pathfinder Unchained version. Paizo admits they made the version in the Advanced Players Guide was too powerful.

Yes, i know the "original" version was way too powerful, but i find the "new one" too much restricted in terms of how your Eidolon appears.

Hello and welcome to the boards!
As for limited appearances on eidolons, I generally use aberration and elemental for catch-alls (no fur) and agathion/psychopomp/daemon as catch-alls for anything with fur.

I personally agree strongly with you and find the old Summoner works just fine for my campaigns, but hey that's just me.

Hey thank you Orthos.
One of my friends is currently playing the summoner (Old School) in the campaign i mentioned.
I think is all about balancing. We all know the Summoner is lil too much overpowered in fights if well built: so the player himself limits his powers (obiouvsly using roleplay to justify).
But about the customization of your Eidolon was really better.

I dunno. There were a few that Tact didn't favor for me...but eh.
He's still better than Freehold for taste.

I hit the "favorite" button pretty often, too. I guess TL has influenced my opinions on things!

I always was a fan of favoriting, even before it became Tacticslion's thing.
Obviously, not on the same level, or close to it.

At one point I cracked the code on how to NOT get favorite'd by Tacticslion, but then I forgot it.
Mention intoxicants of most stripes in a positive manner.
I don’t favorite that.
(There are many other things, but that’s the most common. Well, that and the system being too slow to register all the favorites I give it, meaning some are never processed and I don’t have those as favorites.)
Fiiiiiiine.
Since we’re talking about it.
But look: a lot of others have AMAs (or spinoffs), too! Or other threads! Check them out!

captain yesterday wrote: At one point I cracked the code on how to NOT get favorite'd by Tacticslion, but then I forgot it. First: Greetings, Genetic Flood! Welcome to the party!
Second: I do know ONE way to block Tac's fave-clicking. Though I think I've only gotten an 80% success rate with it . . . . Not that I *try* to prevent him -- it's just how it goes. :)
