First you would use the Craft construct feat to make the vehicle into a mindless construct (preferred over permanent animate objects due to dispelling risk). Then cast awaken construct

An excellent question, my friend, but let me respond with another: Why exactly is a soul necessary? Magic has been developed that allows for recovery of a constructed entity. In effect, a soul would only be necessary if said soul were to later find a use providing power or direction to another vessel.

You mean these guys? 'Cause they don't seem to quite fit the bill:
Warforged are usually neutral or lawful neutral, depending on whether or not their participation in the Last War was under multiple owners or only one. While warforged can, and sometimes do, wrestle with matters of morality, most choose not to. Many will follow another's lead or take the path that is most likely to ensure their continued survival. Likewise, warforged are not often followers of any of the deities or churches. This is due to the fact that, to date, no warforged has even been seen or detected in the afterlife, nor has any undead warforged appeared. This gives rise to the claim that they do not actually have souls. However, since they can be raised or resurrected, it is believed by the more educated that they do have souls, just not those like most 'normal people'.
Since the OP wants the soul as a way of getting them a heavenly afterlife, they'll have to work harder, methinks.

So go by the Velveteen Rabbit precedent,
Since cuddly love is inappropriate for the specifics....
"Awaken Construct" alters the animating force to be more like a soul, per its text. So, the actions of the Construct have to take it the rest of the way. It will have to earn the intercession of the gods on its own.

Guys. Guys.
"How do we give it a soul?"
Really?! Really?!
Guys. This isn't that hard, guys.
It's like you're not even trying.
You just give them a soul.

Vlaeros,
Unless the OP is hiding a seriously nefarious intent, and lying that the purpose is to work out a way for the construct to have a soul, NG aligned with a potential to earn an afterlife...
He also specified not terribly evil.
Your ideas fail on the evil part. Furthermore, none of these actually give the construct its OWN soul with a possibility of earning its own afterlife.
^-^
LOL, though, do you have an emoji for a face plant? Those are hilarious.

Brilliant!
EDIT ADD
Oh. Vlaeros, your ideas did bring back a funny memory.
I had a goodish character Deck of Deathed in one of Dave's game. She, and somehow by extension her much more goodly assistant gained a pride of deodanths as devoted fans. Their attempts to help out matched your ideas. Poor hobbit was continuously horrified by their "help".

A comparison I accept with... pride.
