If you haven't seen already, there've been some updates to the Kickstarter Campaign page, including more information on the 7 classes (Nexus, Shadewalker/Eclipse, Radiant, Aethernaut. Revised and Expanded Classes: Echo, Aberrant (Aegis) and Theurge) and 7 races (New races like the judow, an inevitable-spawn people influenced by kyton or a fresh-look at the ceptu (from Epidemic Books Oathbound: Seven) a race of telekinetic invertibrates!) that will be included in City of Seven Seraphs.
Also, new blog post loaded with info, including detailed descriptions of some of the other new classes like the aethernaut!

Ssalarn is like lightning! And he beat use here but it is also worth mentioning that the blog post in question has preview art of the mirrokin race.

You know, I see that seven shadow goals have been unlocked, and I have no earthly idea where the initial clues were, how they got solved, or what the answers were. I suspect it may have to do with things I don't know about other Lost Spheres products/sites.
So ... good job to the people who unlocked them, because I was totally useless in that regard!

The clues started in the Kickstarter updates and usually led to hidden text or further clues at The Lost Spheres Blog. If it makes you feel any better I chased several of them most of the way through but never quite sorted any of them out myself :P

Remember to talk about your favorite aspects of the book in forum threads and with your friends. You never know what bit of material might give someone the incentive they need to pledge. Do you really like the new veils that came with the Nexus playtest? Talk about your favorite ones on Paizo and see what other people think. Don't understand how one of the veils works? Ask for clarification on the Giant in the Playground forums. Were you super jacked by the description of the Aethernaut, or want to know more about how it works? Ask on one of the forums or Facebook. Just keep the conversation going so people have a chance to see it, and really get into your favorite pieces so the designers and publishers can weigh in and maybe let out that one juicy tidbit that's going to catch someone's attention, or be the perfect addition to their campaign.

At the risk of repeating myself ;-)
Also, that blog post re: the 7 base classes sounds very interesting. My mind is already awhirl w/ possibilities.
Two full BABs, 3 mid-babs, and 2 low BABs, which is pretty much a perfect spread.

Looks like even prodigy from spheres of might might get some support come on guys lets this thing funded asap.
Where are you getting that? I suspect the name prodigy has been used elsewhere and I am not aware of any spheres of power/spheres of might crossover material in 7 Seraphs. As the author of the prodigy you mention, I have not heard anything to that effect, nor would I expect to since the book it is in doesn't have a form release schedule yet. It would be unusual to support an unreleased product.

We are HUGE fans of spherecasters (and Spheres of Power) and backed Spheres of Might as well. We can't wait to get ahold of more information because we do want "Spheres of..." classes to feel at home in the City. Can't wait to see the product in more than playtest glimpses! We would love to support the project as much as possible!!
We intend to have favored class bonuses acknowledging "Spheres of..." at a bare minimum assuming we have the info to do so for both books.

Cool. Ssalarn and N. Jolly know how to get a hold of me if you want any help with that. Looks like a great product, by the way. Eager to see the full thing.
(For clarity, I have written handbook stuff but was not involved in the SoP core book.)

I'm backing this Kickstarter and it just keeps getting better and better!
They just announced a bunch of new PC races...
"born of inevitable and kyton influences upon the ancient Judges of the pre-Wonder War era." I have no clue what a "Wonder War" is but this project needs to hit its funding goal so we can find out!
"Living prisons created to contain the sundered essences of Great Fiends and Elder Creatures..." You had me at "living prisons".
"A race of telekinetic creatures resembling jellyfish...". How can you not support a project where you get to play a psychic jelly fish!?
It's 91% funded with less than 3 days to go. Please spread the word!
Go to City of Seven Seraphs.

Seven new races. And I could happily play each of them, which is kind of odd for me. But something about these are just calling to me. So...hmmm, do I start playing suicidal characters so I can get to them faster or invent new days of the week in which to play?
If you can manage new days of the week... well, I'm for that : ) Don't have near enough time as is... and most people would say I have too much. It's a matter of perspective really.
7 races and 7 classes IIRC... I have to do some reading on the classes that are getting the re vamp. I want an idea of what they might be capable of, but assuming quality remains level with what I've seen so far. I am already happy.
I am an options junkie. I like sitting down at the gaming table and having 40 class options and as many races : ) So long as the options are quality material I embrace the new : )
Looking forward to this.

You'll have to start GMing so you can play them all simultaneously :D

Ditto! I was asking Christen about akashic race support for the book awhile back and he goes "How would you feel about a PC race that are a crystalline living prison and have access to a racial trait where they can gain essence by ripping it out of the creatures imprisoned in them?" To which, of course, the only response is "TAKE MY MONEY!!!"

If I recall correctly, Stack did Destruction, Alteration, and is getting ready to release the playtest for the Conjuration handbook (just as soon as I send him off my final notes!). He also did most of the Swarm Master archetype from Akashic Mysteries and was one of my partners in crime on Spheres of Might.

You know, I really love this confluence of OGL stuff in this product and while I'm aware that this trend started a bit before, I'm still wondering why it is such a recent development to work with stuff from other publishers because isn't that a supposed strength of the OGL, that you can take awesome stuff by others and merge it with your own creative ideas?
I'm a big fan of the Spheres system and plan to adapt it for my own homebrew. So to see that this is supported by Cot7S, is really great. The more I hear about the Akashic stuff, the more I'm interested in it as well (have quite some of the Dreamscarred Psionics stuff, but so far didn't dive into the Akashic mysteries; seems like that was a mistake).
If only I had more money to throw at you all :)

Well, the good news is backers of this book will get a heaping helping of akashic materials, so you'll be off to a strong start! And I tried a few new things in the way that the materials are presented that I think makes the system more intuitive and accessible than it was when I wrote Akashic Mysteries. AM is still a great buy though, and it will give a bunch of extra goodies to play with that we just wouldn't be able to fit in Co7S, so owning both should give you a ton of possibilities to play with.
Michael Sayre |
So, and now you made me go to the Open gaming store, where I not only got the Akashic Mystery book but also stumbled about the Rite Publishing charity sale, which made things a bit more expensive.
That's what an abysmal will save can do to you.
I barely resisted the Rite sale by virtue of already owning most of the materials.... So in the long run I think you got the better deal, and that's probably how I'd choose to look at it :P

This book is confirmed to be bigger than 400 (!!!) pages! OO
And it's almost funded! I can almost taste my delicious Rhyzala race...
How delicious are they? Are we talking oyster mushrooms? Or are they tastier than the mighty truffle? I doubt they are less delicious than a simple white mushroom.

As someone who's first campaign was Planescape I am thrilled to be writing on this project. What am I writing?
Well...Remember that feeling of wonder, fear and excitement that first time your rogue modron rogue got to shop the strange stores and street carts along Pandemonium Path in Sigil?
Let's just say, prepare to feel that again.
