Are you allowed to the Tiefling Favored Class Bonus +1 to Lay on Hands at lvl 1, remaking it as i level it to lvl 2 (PFS)?
Been unable to find the answer, have asked around hand have not been able to get a straight answer. Asked 3 GM's 1 yes, 1 No, 1 said it was a grey area, and told me to try ask here.
If there is a rule, please let me know the source.

You can't select a Favored Class Bonus that modifies a Class Feature before you have it, but you can select Favored Class Bonuses that add additional options, such as +1/6 of a Feat, or +1/6 of a Rogue Talent.
Since you do not yet have the Lay on Hands Class Feature at level 1, you couldn't select a Favored Class Bonus that modified it.

I'm curious about this one too, as I've never noticed that ruling. It's a sub optimal option early on obviously so I'm not sure why they would rule against it.
In the APG where they talk about the new favored class bonuses for various races there is nothing in there that says you need to be of a particular level to take a class specific bonus.

There was an FAQ about it, but I can't remember which book they put the ruling under. You'll have to comb through them, and unfortunately I can't remember much about what the post said.
It actually happened because of a ruling about nature oracles (I think) who were getting animal companions of a higher level then the Oracle themselves were.

Here is the link. Holy #@$% is it annoying to find.
Related Point: Can I apply the aasimar or elf oracle's favored class bonus to a revelation I do not yet have? Can I do so for the aasimar bard’s favored class bonus?
No, when choosing which class feature’s effective level to increase, you can only select a feature that you already have. For example, an aasimar flame oracle cannot choose to improve the wings of fire revelation with her favored class bonus until she actually gains the revelation at 7th level or beyond; she could not start augmenting it at 1st level. This isn’t actually a new rule. It’s just a clarification that I confirmed with the design team because it seemed that some folks were assuming otherwise.

Lady-J wrote:what does it matter when you can just retrain into it at a later date when you actually get the class feature anyway.....This also doesn't work, because the moment you Retrain down to 1st level you no longer have that class feature.
he mean retraining them when you have the requisite, so you chose the +1 HP or +1 skill point and when you can take the favoured option you retrain the old one, like when you retrain your 1st lvl feat for a feat that demand a BAB of 6

I went looking at Additional resources: no note under Advanced race guide, And no FAQ entry under Advanced Race either :/

It is actually *in* a hardcover book somewhere, either as errata or one of the newer releases.
John Compton's statement was the premonition, and the official ruling came later.
Would love if anyone could tell where its printed.
Looked a retraining, appears you cannot retrain favored class bonuses in the same ways as you can retrain feats.

I believe it's in Ultimate Intrigue.

that's very sad, then you need to plan carefully when putting favoured class option

It's in Occult Adventures.
Many of these alternate class rewards add only 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, or 1/6 to a roll (rather than 1) each time the reward is selected, or add 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, or 1/6 to a class ability (such as adding to a mesmerist’s number of mesmerist tricks per day or the total number of points in a psychic’s phrenic pool). When applying such a benefit to a die roll or class ability, always round down (to a minimum of 0). You may thus need to select such an option several times before the benefit takes effect. If an alternate favored class option modifies a class feature or ability, it can’t be taken before the character has that class feature or ability. For example, if a class gains a class feature at 6th level, a character couldn’t take a racial favored class option that applies to that class feature until 6th level, even if the benefit from that option wouldn’t be high enough to add a bonus until a later level.
