Help making a level 8 Cleric

Advice

Hi. I am joining into a campaign with a new character of my choosing stating at level 8. I love the idea of playing a combat cleric who may throw out a few buff spells here or there but who really lives to be in the middle of a brawl causing untold damage to his enemies.

The main things that I want to ensure are that the class is cleric and that he swings a mace.

I have 207,000 gold to spend on gear. I rolled for stats: 16, 16, 16, 13, 12, 11.

With the above in mind, can I ask for some help as Clerics are a real mystery to me.

Couple questions-

1) Do you have a deity or type of domain you want your cleric to worship?

2) Race?

3) Channel positive or negative (cure vs inflict)?

4) Will you get race adjustments for your stats?

5) Archetypes allowed?
Have you looked at the Warpriest? This is a very marshal cleric but you have a slower spell progression and can not cast cleric spells higher then the 6th rank.

1. Not picked one yet

2. Human
3. Have not picked yet
4. I don't think so
5. Yes they are but don't see warpriest as an option of PFSRd?

16, 16, 16, 13, 12, 11
str con and wisdom the 16.
13 cha
12 dex
11 int

go Gorum for glory and something else and wield your great sword.
another option is go bad touch.
take 2 domains like madness, chaos etc, and spend 2 feats for domain touch.
first attack unarmed strike > trigger both domain strike (no save) and enforcer feat (intimidate).
rest of attacks use a big stick.

if you mean d20pfsrd they're in the hybrid classes

That is a fairly huge amount of money. If you want to wield a mace then you might find something like this guy useful. He is a melee orientated cleric of Asmodeus with plenty of wisdom for casting buffs. He has a few negative channels but they are generally irrelevant. He has strong social skills via the conversion inquisition but otherwise doesn't have that many skill points to play with.

His spell list is just a selection of possible spells and his gear list doesn't contain any consumables. I would expect a lot of utility scrolls and wands to feature. He has just over 3000gp left unspent. I might juggle his purchases about to fit some low level pearls of power in. The stat block is without using any buffs.

Any alternate might be a separatist cleric with the animal/fur/feathers domain and boon companion for a full strength animal. The Roc would be a very strong choice, probably with a horsemasters saddle and improved spell sharing.

Asmodean Hellknight:

Feat selection order is pretty much:

1st: Additional Traits
Human: Heavy Armour Proficiency
3rd: Power Attack
5th: Improved Initiative
7th: Cornugon Smash

9th level feat is probably quicken spell for quickened divine favour. You might want to pick up the magical lineage trait instead of the existing ones to make those level 4 spells.

With one round to prebuff with divine favour and using his boots of speed and power attack you are looking at:

Melee +3 cruel adamantine heavy mace +19/+19/+11 (1d8+17 plus 1d6 acid)
Each hit lets you intimidate as a free action. If you do shake your target and hit them again they become sickened for 1 minute.

Your damage would be much better if you switched to a two handed weapon but if you want to use a mace then you may as well get the extra defensive benefits of a shield.

Warpriests are in the Hybrid section of classes.

The biggy thing for them is any standard buff spell they cast on themselves they can cast as a swift action without drawing AO.

This allows them to wade into combat, full attacking and toss a buff spell like Divine Power on themselves.

They do suffer a penalty of a slow spell progression and lack of any real channeling ability.

Liberty's Edge

My melee cleric is a follower of Cayden Cailean. I value mobility in combat, so I took the Travel domain in addition to the Strength domain. I usually play human clerics for the additional feat and skill point. I think Toughness and Weapon Focus are food feat choices.

You have a thousand options for this and most are really good. The main thing to get is demon subdomain if you are willing to be evil or at least CN because it scales up accuracy and damage better than almost anything a cleric has. If you like massive damage bless equipment chain to give urself and others bane is pretty good, especially for humans since it's a lot of feats. Evangelist usin performances gives good damage and accuracy to urself and friends alike. I'd start with one of these as a base-line

Liberty's Edge

You should get race adjustments if those are rolled stats, that's like half the point of rolling.

In terms of wading into battle wrecking face, I don't know that I could do better than the asmodean build above, though I wouldn't bother with the inquisition, or additional traits for that matter.
Devil, fire/smoke, magic/arcane are all great domains too.

You also don't have to be evil: http://archivesofnethys.com/TraitDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Pact%20Servant

or you can go full deific obedience: http://archivesofnethys.com/DeityDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Asmodeus

also prestige classes, depending on 8th level abilities and how much you want them: obviously conversion domain is quite good.
