Most damaging single attack mount / animal companion?

Advice

Silver Crusade

In continuation of a different thread with a more confusing title, i'm looking for a mount that has high damage potential with single attacks.

Why this? Char is a 4 paladin/ 1 kindness id rager. Kindness id rager grants an attack to an ally threatening the target if you spend a standard action to make a single attack and hit a target with it. Since paladins get an animal companion mount at 5 (next level), i was wondering about the damage potential of using your mount for those attacks if the other players are unavailable.

Unfortunately, i am still a somewhat new player and the rules for animal companions, not to mention the huge amount of those available, are extensive. Is there perhaps someone with nore experience on animal companions who could offer advice on which companion has the most damage potential and how this companion should be build with extra abilities and feats? Remember, i can only grant one attack per turn so multiattack options seems less valuable unless the companion could somehow make those as bonus follow up attacks. Also, i believe that the paladin animal companion must be a mount-viable animal.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, most of the mounts available don't have a single high damage attack. If you can swing a T-Rex or a Panda they add 2x STR to bite attacks but I think the rex's base damage is higher. Normally you would have to be a Druid for those.

If you want a legitimate way to get an unusual mount go Half-Orc and take the Beast Rider feat. This will open several animals to choose from. If dinosaurs are allowed then the best pick for a single damaging attack would be the Stegosaurus at 2d8 + Trip. Take Improved Natural Attack for it and it becomes 4d6. If dinosaurs aren't allowed then go Rhinoceros... 2d6 + Powerful Charge.

Mad dog skinwalker barbarian. If you pick the rage breed variant you can get a rage power at 12 level that makes gore attacks on a charge an automatic crit. Share that with your rhinoceros and have fun with your auto critting, large, powerful charging beastie.

" This mount is usually a heavy horse (for a Medium paladin) or a pony (for a Small paladin), although more exotic mounts, such as a boar, camel, or dog are also suitable."

Among those the Horse is the best pick or tripping wolf, if you are small.

If other mounts are allowed, check out the Ankylosaurus or the Arsinotherium.
In general pets with secondary effects like Grab, Poison, Stun can be useful for you
