A quick question about Dragonhide armor.
There was a discussion on this item at the earlier game. Our GM dropped a fireball on us and several items were unattended and would take the fire damage. We all agreed to that at the end...
Luckily most of the items are mundane... Most... There was a +1 Dragonhide Breastplate and the player had declared on his Inventory Tracking Sheet that it was created from scales of a dragon immune to fire.
Question... Can we just declare (when purchasing) what the scales of the dragon would be immune to?

If the dragonhide comes from a dragon that had immunity to an energy type, the armor is also immune to that energy type, although this does not confer any protection to the wearer.
If there's a dragon that's immune to that energy type, then it stands to reason that there's dragon hide armor that's immune to that energy type. Are there dragons that are immune to force or sonic damage ?

1. The party was sleeping when we were attacked, so the armor was on the ground.
2. Question is more towards, for PFS Legal, can we just announce when purchasing what type of damage the dragon was immune to OR must find it in a chronicle sheet.
SlimGauge: Don't think so. Only the four basic elemental type

There are no chronicles with specific dragon hide. To my knowledge it all just says dragonhide.
The Chronicles that grant access to Dragonhide do indeed grant access to specific colors (and there's an in-scenario reason for each of them as well). I know of Red, Black and Underworld, at least.
the player had declared on his Inventory Tracking Sheet that it was created from scales of a dragon immune to fire.
Sounds like they filled out their ITS correctly.
Though even if it wasn't immune to fire, it's incredibly difficult to destroy something like a Dragonhide Breastplate with a Fireball. Hardness 10 and 30 hit points, minimum. Even a Maximized Fireball, CL 10th, wouldn't destroy such an item.
Without Maximize it would take 5 regular Fireballs at CL 10 dealing average damage to destroy such an item.

I always write down what type of material is used, "Red Dragonhide" and so forth. It is notable that not all dragonhide has an immunity, so if unmentioned, it lacks one (as per the description of dragonhide in the CRB). There's no cost difference, so I always list a specific dragon type with a specific immunity when buying one.
That said, I've never seen any indication that I'm doing it wrong. The main thing is that the type you pick, stays. If you changed it whenever, that would be a problem.
My favorite feature of dragonhide is the array of colors you can paint your model's armor, thanks to the many colors of dragons.

crystal dragons have sonic immunity, A couple of the esoteric dragons use force breath weapons, but I was unable to verify if they have immunity.
