That's sounds troubling.
Anything that you want to talk about or need help solving?
Nah, it's just about money. And I just have to cut some spending until July that I'm getting a kinda big payment. But for now I am being very conservative with money and not spending on anything that is not absolutely necessary.
About the pork, I bought some loin. Loin and tenderloin are some of my favorite pork cuts.
Kile, if you ever feel like your are up against the wall, even if its just about money, then PM me and I try and help out however I can.
Please at least consider it, as you are far too nice a person, to have to be weighed down by sadness. And yes, both would do fine in a gyros.

Paizocon is a bust for me this year.
My flight to Seattle was eventually canceled after a six-hour delay. There were no flights that could get me there today (Friday), with the possible exception of getting on standby for a 8:30 PM arrival. Best guaranteed seat would arrive at 1PM Saturday...which would have meant missing half the con.
I made the decision to just cancel the trip.
So many flights were canceled that there were no rooms at any hotel with airport shuttle service, so I had to take an Uber across town to a so-so Hampton Inn. Checked in at 2:30 AM. At least I got five hours of sleep.
And there are no flights home today, either. Soonest is a 6PM Saturday flight. I'm looking at a one-way car rental for a 5-hour drive home...assuming that I can get a car.
"Disappointed" doesn't really convey how I feel right now.

Broke 20 °C locally today, which is nice, but because of it being so windy it only feels like its in the 15 °C range.
Haven't gotten any idea for dinner today, but I think I'll probably spend the afternoon cleaning...
*Dorns apron, rubber gloves and bucket + cleaning rag*
Edit:
That really, really sucks Hal.
*Offers pat on the back and a cold beverage of Hal's choice*

So sorry for you, Haladir.
I received the bad news today that because of the laziness of some of the workers at contratatation department in the hospital I wouldn't get my unemployment payment.
Two hours later a worker from the employment office called me and told me that she had managed everything by her own and got them to send the missing documents . Just because she felt like doing it so I wasn't left without my payment. She made my day. Thanks to this wonderful person I am getting some money that I really need.
I've been also called to work today on the afternoon.
And gyros tasted awesome.
And I made a cocoa cheesecake.
Life is about to get better.

I never tried shawarma but it's probably kinda similar to a doner or a gyros?
I've already read about too many people having difficulties with their flights. That sucks.
I remember the year I went for a month to the UK. There was a girl from the Canary Islands who was going to travel with us. We had everything paid because we were on scolarship and we had all made a big effort to get good marks in English to earn the scholarship.
That girl lost the flight because her plane to Madrid was delayed and she couldn't afford to pay a new flight to the UK. The airlines didn't make anything about it. So she went to Madrid for nothing. That sucks.

Sharwarma is pretty much exactly gyro meat. Lamb and beef.
Actually when you get right down to it, Greek and Middle Eastern cuisine have a lot of similarities. Not surprisingly, as they are close geographically and have each conquered the other at different periods.
I have been very fortunate with my plane travels. The worst thing is weather: No one can do anything about it, and bad weather causes a domino effect, bottlenecking travelers and causing a cascade of issues.
That being said, airlines can be pretty tone-deaf to passengers. I like Southwest Airlines, they seem to have their sh!t together most of the time.

I have always been fortunate with weather at my trips or maybe I am just used to have rain in the summer (this is Galicia after all) and getting a few rainy days doesn't scare me.
I remember bathing in the river we have in my town with a huge lightning storm and refusing to get out of the water as a child.

If I had the money after working Tekko, not that I had a lot to begin with, and had Paizocon not been so soon after Kennywood Park's Asian Heritage Day, which now is run by Tekko's parent organization, I might have gone. Maybe in a year or two. *sigh*

My chances of going to the con, is slightly lower then my chances of visiting the states, which is...
Probably less then zero.
While I have the time (in theory at least), I don't really think I have the finances, the strength of will or the frame of mind to go that far abroad.
I break down too easily, and the thought of having a depressive episode, while abroad scares the heck out off me. Not to mention all the small things, that would come from breaking my usual routines, like getting my medication on time, getting ahold of said medication, establishing new routines in a foreign place, having a place to retreat to if the crowds, noise or atmosphere is smothering me and so on.
Even minor trips, sadly, require extra preparation (or at least mental preparation) for me.

I can totally understand that. We're going to Paris for vacation this summer, which is something I've always wanted to do, but it's also kinda terrifying. At least I won't be on my own though. So that helps.
This last week isn't really helping my nerves though since I kinda had a major anxiety/depressive breakdown yesterday. :/
That's why I haven't been posting very much. Sigh. I am starting to wonder if I don't need to switch antidepressants after all. :(

Switching meds is a pain.
But that said, it is necessary, if the meds your on have very unfortunate or unhealthy side effects. Since I have been on a host of different types of medication (both antidepressants and antipsychotics), I know of most of the common ones.If you don't mind me asking, why are you considering switching?

My antihyperglycemic and my antidepressant don't play nice together. We've tried upping the dose of my antidepressant, but the side effects get worse the more of it I take. It's a difficult balancing act.

That's a tough nut to crack.
Since some antidepressants affect the amount of glucose in the blood. It here, that your doctor has to help you to find the types, that have the lowest impact on your bloodsugar, which might be an SNRI, but I'm not an expert on drug interactions like this.
I'm really sorry, that I can't help you anymore then that Lyn, but I'm not really that knowledgeable on blood-sugar problems.
I do hope you can find a solution.

So did I. But I was pretty unsure what time zone you were in, as I know there are 3 time zones in the US and I'm not sure where Pittsburg is.
Well, actually, there are 4 time zones for the contiguous 48 states, and 6 if you include Alaska and Hawaii.
Eastern (where John is, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Washington DC, Florida)
Central (Illinois, Texas, North Dakota and all the states in between
Mountain (states in the Rocky Mountains
Pacific (Oregon, Washington, California and Paizo)
(lists are samples, not complete listings, and some states are in more than one time zone)

Thanks, Crystal. I couldn't reply because I was busy reading the Wayfinder Bestiary that I had downloaded earlier.

How are you doing? I woke up today extremely tired for no reason.
Having breakfast with the cake I did yesterday. The experiment of adding cocoa to a cheesecake was a success xD
