Of the page!
I meant top of the page, I swear!

Today is the Artisan Beer Fair in Lugo. It's actually no more than a few places on the street serving local artisan beer and a couple of street food places serving burgers, tacos and crepes (not fast food but good street food) All at double price than they are worth. But I'm probably biting the bait anyway.

But weren't you first on the last page? Also, Good Morning.

Good morn' in the afternoon.

So finally got the guests out of the house.

So now it dinner time, but I'm feeling lazy so I'll probably make a Hot-curry-chicken-smoked bacon stew
(garlic, onion, bell pepper, chili, tomatoes - spiced with peppercorns, salt, curry (three kinds), lemongrass, limejuice, some crushed juniper berries and some bay leaves I think they are called?)
Served with a good helping of rice.

Edit: damn I knew I forgot something...Hey everyone how are you going?

Yes, they're called Bay Leaves.

*Salivates*

I'm thinking about taking a plane to Denmark right now...

I've got today some local fresh cheese from Dal's parents that is my personal favorite so I'm just having a sandwich with it and rye bread.
As a fun fact this cheese is made in the same place Elba (the woman from the iron age) was found.

Now there something you don't see everyday...cheese in the shape of a chef's hat.

what the texture like? is it soft and creamy...I mean can you spread it on bread or is it too hard for that?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You can spread it but it's not as soft as cream cheese and it's difficult to get a homogeneous spread. It has a slight acidic taste, a bit like cottage cheese. Even if it's a fresh cheese the taste is kinda strong. The texture is a bit similar to blue cheese but a bit softer and creamy.
It's made with cow milk. In Galicia most cheese are made from cow milk, unlike the rest of Spain where sheep and goat are more popular.
Talking about Galician cheeses with suspicious shapes... Titty Cheese!

Ah blue cheese I know well, so that give me a pretty good idea of the texture.

Well, trying to find local cheese that's not made out cow's milk here in Denmark is next to impossible.
I think, I meet the model for that cheese, while I was studying in Aahus, she nearly took my eyes out just from a hug!

That girl deserves a prize for having such firm breasts!

I love blue cheese. Any cheese with a strong taste.
I love the old, really cured, rancid, foul smelling manchego cheese. The older the better.
OK, I'll stop lying. I love all cheese (all that plastic like buttery processed cheeses don't count).

Funnily I don't really care that much for cheese...except when use in cooking.
Don't really know what it is about cheese, but it just gets so much more edible af its been melted, mixed or fried...
Yea I have always been very picky about what I eat, but I blame it one coming from a family of picky eaters, with diverse food alligies ^^.

Making Fish tonight I have a question for anyone in the European area when they say Fish and chips Chip are basically just American french fries right? Is there any difference between french fries and European fish and chips?

Having never been to America I can only go by what I've seen on TV and the like, and no, there's no real difference. Possibly the chips you get in the UK are a bit chunkier than the US french fries, but like I said, I dunno.

I come from a family of excellent cooks (for everything but meat), so I am a picky eater too. But also enjoying cooking and getting creative in the kitchen also helps.
I didn't know how to cook before I studied to be a cook, as everybody in my family cooked so well I never cared to learn. I got late to it but with a passion.
Having my own kitchen and being able to do it my way also helped, as in my family everybody knew The Right Way to cook and everything else was BadWrongFood.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Mommy Kjeldorn kicked me into the kitchen at 13, and told me to help out with the house chores, by cooking once or twice a week.
I was annoyed at the time, but I'm thankful today, as I can cook well enough to invite people to my apartment, for a home-cooked meal.

Well, everybody. Someone's finally done it. Someone has finally pissed me off enough to want someone dead. It seems that, between Yesterday afternoon and this afternoon, someone had drained my checking account to nearly zero. Right now, I'm unable to renew my Transit pass for the week after next week, or even do laundry. There's a branch of my bank that's open tomorrow. I'll go there to try to get this resolved. Wish me luck.

OMG, that's awful. Hope it gets resolved promptly!

So do I. Being violated in this manner is not a good feeling. I really don't like being this angry, but there's nothing that can be done about it right now.

I really hope your bank will be able to help out, and that the idiots who did this are held responsible.

Thanks, Kjeldorn. Everyone's well wishes are greatly appreciated, right now.

Having bank problems like that is a ripple effect, you need to cancel cards, freeze payments, then once it all gets sorted out you get to catch up with stuff in a hurry. It's not an experience I'd wish on many people. Even less so when the responsible party is someone you know/care about.

Hopefully your bank deals with it fast.

I've had this problem before, fortunately my account was almost empty, but it's like Scythia says, a lot of work to just sort things out. I hope everything is solved soon.

Mornin good afternoon, how everyone doing?

Fine, preparing to go to pick my players with my car. And not knowing what to wear because I am sweating but cloudy and it might rain.

Uhh...Have a nice RP session (wish I was there, could use some time as a player, not a GM, right now).

The weather is clear and a bit sunny here, but windy and not really that warm.

Better than Yesterday, I suppose. Today, when I get to the bank, I ask them for help in getting their "Virtual Wallet" online service activated for me, so I can keep better track of what's going on. *grumble, Should have done it last year. grumble*

That's nice John. I wish I could offer some help other then encouragement, but it a little hard from this side of the pond ^^.

Everything else doing well for you?

Yeah, worked off my anger playing Skyrim yesterday. Took Bleak Falls Barrow, killing many bandits and Draugr in the process. Went back to Whiterun in time to kill a Dragon with a lot of Arrow fire. Got named Thane of Whiterun. Scaled the highest mountain in the game to speak with the "Greybeards." Went back to Whiterun and bought a bunch of spells. Went back to the base of the mountain and wiped out a bandit lair.

Right now, I just feel sad and disappointed. Did I ever mention how much I dislike Hackers? God, I hope this wasn't done by someone I know. I don't know how I'd react to that kind of betrayal.

About to go to the bank, now. Wish me luck.

Well, now it is done. I hope they can catch the one who did it.

Today I had fun with my players. I had two players who hadn't met each other and they got along well. I handed a gillwoman Witch to a player who got into the story already started and he did a disturbing but hilarious interpretation. We had so much fun.
We have still not ended the story because my players went into interrogating everybody but they had fun like that and solved many mysteries. It was a good session.
It ended with my youngest player going solo into a room where the CR5 incorporeal BBEG is, and they are just level 1. She doesn't have any way to harm him. I expect that when she finds him she is clever enough to run away.

Sounds great Kile. It's always nice to get that feeling, of a job well done, even if things didn't quite as planed.

I'm even glad of not having finished. I have one more session before I have to think what will the next thing I GM.
And I had fun, they had fun, they developed their characters. I have a sore throat as always because of making too many different voices, but nothing that the hot tea with lemon I am having now won't fix.

So how was your day? Something worth of mention? I was lazy for cooking today so I don't have nothing to add regarding to cooking.

Kileanna wrote:

Not really anything special.

Dinner was mostly left-overs from yesterday. Did a bit of house cleaning and a bit of writing for tuesdays RP session.
Mostly stuff about, some cursed stuff they found in the haunted house, and how to get rid of it...
among the stuff, they found a family portrait the shows the family by day, and the family at the moment of their deaths by night.

Interesting stuff! It sounds disturbing. The haunted house theme sounds definitely great and it seems like you are setting a creepy mood.

I'm planning more stuff for the solo campaign I'm GMing to Dalindra. I don't want to admit it but it has been more interesting since I changed the campaign into a solo game. As much as I like my players, this is allowing me to make it more personal and, most important... to make more than 1 session each month! No long term campaign survives that.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yea most campaign death, in my experience, is usually due to scheduling problems - how often can we met (or can we meet at all).
Its a really annoying thing, which make me very happy that I've managed to get two small groups together, so that we play something like 3 out of 4 weeks every month.
And for the solo stuff...Its something that I mostly use, to either finish up backstories (before introductions to the rest of the group) or as outros, after the main adventure is finished. But I would probably do more of it if the people, I play with, had more time, but you know, with age comes Girl/boyfriends, kids, houses, pets, family and all that stuff.
I'm just glad, that we get to play, as much, as we do already.

Yes, I am glad too. I cannot complain either as most of my players are very commited. The worse part is that they have some compatibility issues as each one can play a different day of the week.
Solo playing/GMing in my case means GMing to Dalindra or being GMed by him to kill some time. But sometimes also as you said, as an intro or epilogue for some characters.
I have also GMed solo stuff to Dalindra to characters that had their group adventures and we wanted to continue their story. Like Va'ardalia from my other thread. She had her group campaign. Then she became a NPC and I GMed some solo short scenes for Dalindra to see how she was doing aside being a NPC. And now I'm probably getting her out of retirement and GMing some short stories to her with a political/intrigue background.

ah sorry to keep you awake.

Nighty night.

Wow... Just got back from a short trip to D.C.
...
Ten hours of driving really does suck the energy out of you... Who knew sitting and moving your legs could get so tiring?
Edit: And arms I guess, steering should probably count for something.

Couldn't do that, as I get very sleepy after just half an hour of driving, so I've banned myself from driving more then that, at a time, out of fear, of falling asleep at the wheel.
It has something to do with the motion of a running vehicle, I think, so I do as little driving, as I can get away with.

I used to hit a wall at about 30 minutes myself, but after driving for 2.5 hours every time I went home, I did start to get used to it.
