An Aldori Swordlord who's not a fighter?

Advice

So I was just thinking about this as a possibility, but what about using a slayer as the basis for your Aldori Swordlord rather than fighter or even duelist?

Thematically in some respects, a slayer Swordlord studies his targets, while the ranger combat styles, feats, etc. allow for the character to add take advantage of many different options and fighting styles. Plus, those bonuses to demoralize will definitely help a slayer get off more sneak attacks, etc.

Thoughts?

There are quite a few classes that can do a non-fighter Swordlord.

Slayer, kensai magus, dualist, swashbuckler, rogue (swashbuckler archetype), dex based paladin

I'm currently making up a Swashbuckler/Kensai who uses an Aldori Dueling Sword. I may or may not actually take a level of Aldori Swordlord prestige class when he reaches lvl5.

I did a rogue/magus/ASL that I really enjoyed. but with the new unchanged rogue I do not know if I would go that route again as I might just go Rogue/Magus.
But having said that the story of your PC can decide a lot of stuff for your PC if that is the type of game you play in. ie you take ASL because it is more background dependent and your game is not so much numbers dependent.

I forgot to mention that RM-2 also has an ability that lets wizard types use essentially Use Magic Device skill in place of there weapon skill.
If you were to do this in PF I guess you would say that a wizards BAB was equal to a fighter's level of there UMD skill ranks if they mad there UMD roll.
I also think that most people can see the problem this magic weapon ability can bring to any game. ie get the ability then you are just as good as a full BAB class/profession for that weapon.

Cavalier (Daring Champion or Gendarme, Order of the Cockatrice all help with feats required for the prestige class)

I've been thinking a Yojimbo Samurai would suit an Aldori well.

Maybe that Tengu rogue archetype would work?
