Figured I might as make some guesses while we wait for it to come out.
I think it's going to be;
Adowyn: She's actually from Nirmathas so I figure it would make sense to see her here in this AP than perhaps any other.
Lini: Um... She's a Druid and Nirmathas is mostly forest. Oh, it also has a town run by Druids. Yeah, that's all I got.
Shardra: I think a dwarven stronghold is going to be involved in this AP and I think Crystal Fraiser is the one whose writing it. So I'd imagine she'd want to have one her creations saving the day in the artwork.
The Fourth (Wo)Man: I have no clue, but I'd wager it's either Lem, Valeros or Harsk. That said, I want it to be either Yoon (that little pyromaniac is too awesome-cute) or Hakon (the last time I've seen him depicted in any artwork he was being used a stool. Poor fella needs a chance to redeem himself).
*Piss! Is there any way to edit titles?

Adowyn is in. But if she's in, I think Lini is out. And that'll be the only familiar, unless Lini is in and we have multiple familiars for the first time.
Shardra is a good pick. but again, the two familiars. Harsk is better, but Adowyn takes his skill set.
Seltyiel hasn't been in an adventure path since Council of Thieves, so I'm going to throw him in there.
I would like to see an Occult character. Estra's backstory works really well.
That's an advanced class guide and one ultimate magic and one occult. So I'm guessing that it'll be rounded out with an OG character like...
Kyra. Or Merisel. Or Seoni.

Pretty sure the iconics were already announced were Lini, Adowyn, Harsk and a fourth that escapes me at the moment.
It's Jirelle, the iconic swashbuckler.

druid
ranger
druid+ranger
piratenope. don't like it.
well... it's just three of largely the same thing.
one of them (hunter) is the blend of two others.
and one of them is a pirate.
nope.
i would have stuck in the bloodrager or the arcanist or the summoner or ANYTHING than the pirate. and dumped the druid and thrown in almost anything else.
save the pirate for azlant next AP.

Jirelle isn't a pirate. She was selected as a kind of Robin Hood figure thought to be fitting the Nirmathas setting. The other three were chosen because they are the typical outdoors characters and this is something of an outdoors adventure path.

a swashbuckler is a pirate.
her character background is that of a pirate. She's a pirate.
I think it's cool that there's a pirate iconic, but it is probably best for the next AP, not this one.

My swashbuckler in our Hell's Rebels campaign would disagree. He has never even set foot on a ship.
Also, Robin Hood is not a pirate. Inigo Montoya is not a pirate. D'Artagnan and the three musketeers are not pirates. Zorro is not a pirate. The list goes on.

Zorro is a vigilante.

Nope, he's a swashbuckler with the mysterious avenger archetype.

Do they choose Iconics random, or those they think are the best fit for the campaign?
i think they wanted to have lots of pets for this one.
some of the others are smart - the Investigator & Mesmerist for Strange Aeons are spot on; Hell's Rebels needed the bard & cleric; barbarian similarly was a must for both Giantslayer and Iron Gods - Iron Gods also had the gunslinger and the alchemist, which were on point.

1. Ranger
2. Cleric
3. Barbarian
4. SorceressBy the way,
Do they choose Iconics random, or those they think are the best fit for the campaign?
Somewhere in the forums, I believe in the Ask James Jacobs thread, the team has commented that iconics for a given adventure path are selected based on 2 major elements. How thematically appropriate the character is, and how recently they've been used in other Paizo material. I would quote that but I cannot find the post at the moment.
