YouTube hasn't been behaving. Anyone else having trouble?

I've had the home page not show anything on both my lap top and my Ipad or treat me like I wasn't signed in when I was, the player bar sometimes flickers, and the comments often won't load. Normally I'd blame it on my net but it's the only site that has trouble aside from the times when the router goes offline for a minute or two.

Yes, but not the same trouble. For me, everything was working with only an occasional glitch until last week, but then I have had trouble with the audiovisual stream stalling out or more commonly just quitting with the unhelpful message "Sorry, an error occurred" (after which I have to reload the page and then manually set the time position to as close as I can to just before where it was). I thought it was due to my trying to use GMail at the same time (which I also started doing about a week ago, and it does seem to be more likely to happen when I type into a message at above a snail's pace) combining with my Verizon (dis)service and old computer.

It's not a Verizon issue, the net from my place comes from AT&T...unless they're both having issues at the same time. Not too far out of the question.

I'm on Wi-Fi through my cellphone and it was working just fine for me about an hour ago (via the app).

I'll test out the website with my tablet though.

Edit: posting from tablet, website works fine as well.

I notice it works better on my Ipad than my laptop but it runs into an unknown error there more frequently lately.

If you haven't done it already, it might help to upgrade your browser, or flash, or whatever it is that YouTube uses to show videos these days (HTML5?). Maybe your video drivers, too.

I listen to Youtube several hours every day, and have had no problems at all.

I'm not sure how to upgrade HTML5, but my browser's up to date and my I updated my graphics card once I noticed the issues starting.

I'll have to see if a new computer solves the problem . . . WHEN I can get a new computer.

Well, either I'm getting incredible coincidences, or GMail message editing (not reading) does something to hose YouTube when you type into the message window. Maybe they fight for a common resource within Google-specific communications? If I don't have GMail doing anything (even if I am logged in), YouTube works fine except for a very rare very brief glitch.

^Actually, on further testing, just having GMail up at the same time as YouTube does interfere with YouTube, although to a much lesser extent when not typing stuff into a message.

I have much more trouble with Netflix constantly freezing up or rebuffering. No problems ever with Youtube.

I used to have almost no trouble with YouTube until around 3 weeks ago, and then all of a sudden a plague of streams erroring out. Now happening frequently even with GMail not up.

Hmm... I keep Gmail open the whole time I'm online and haven't had any trouble with Youtube. I wonder what the deal is.

Okay, must be a local problem or a general YouTube problem -- now I get interruptions and errors even if nothing else is open.

Well, barring incredible coincidence, it isn't a YouTube problem, because when I traveled to Georgia and listened to 5 YouTube videos on my phone on the Red Roof Inn (Atlanta Midtown) WiFi, no problem (even though that WiFi cuts out sometimes, but happened not to do it this time). Before, I was at home in Brookline, MA using my computer on Verizon DSL. So next to figure out if it is the computer or my ISP.

I think he meant Flash player...

HTML5 test

I'm always getting troubles in YT last days, sometimes screen freezes and an audio track goes forward. Too many freezes in starting video play. It doesn't depend on Internet provider.

It is a flash player issue, you will notice the playtime slider stop moving as well, thinkering with it a little usually fix it, unless the site is experiencing other hipcups. you might also want to disable any adobe flash player add-on/plugin while on youtube.
