Is there a magic device that allows a character to gain trapfinding?

Is there a magic device that allows a character to gain trapfinding?

thanks

My searches haven't turned up any.

Liberty's Edge

I'm going to assume that a wand of Aram Zey's Focus isn't exactly what you were looking for. I don't know of anything that will get you a permanent trapfinding skill though.

If there was, it would be horribly unbalanced as that would make the Rogue pointless after a point.

Some would argue you wouldn't need to do anything... ;)

Ha, yeah nice crack at the Rogue.

Im quite new to RPGs, so thats really just the flaw that characters arent designed to unlocked things at higher levels beyond what they do at low levels.

Rogue finds traps, and backstabs.

Slayer can learn that, but is tougher, stronger, and more versatile. There are probably archteypes that gives classes trapfinding and/or sneak attacks but have SPELLS as well.

Making an item that makes the rogue obsolete is really something that should be vetoed.

There's at least 10 archtypes I can think of that pick locks.

Rangers bards magus hunters investigators alchemists and of course rogues

I've house ruled that a magic set of the thieves tools works just as well.

Trapfinding is more than just using lockpick sets. Its about getting bonuses to detecting and avoiding traps in general, but most importantly allows the user to disable magic traps.

Anyone can dip into the Rogue or Investigator to get Trapfinding class feature.

Really should be a pair of googles for that thing I swear..
at least for detecting and disabling magic stuff. No need fro the bonus I suppose.

Silver Crusade

Thank you.

If you aren't limiting your question to magic items, there is the Trap Finder campaign trait.

That wand should be all you need. The bonuses given by trapfinding are nice, but you can get bonuses from lots of sources. The thing you really want is the ability to disarm magical traps. And you aren't likely to encounter more than 2 to 3 wands worth of those.
