I have a feeling that will be a waste of time. =P

Soon(tm).

I'm pretty sure there's usually a delay between the release and the AR update, though I'm not sure how long that tends to be. Wish I could remember, I'm sitting on 5 levels worth of credit and I'm thinking of making it a Noble Fencer. Need to decide before the 9th of April.

It depends, really. I think Occult Adventures was actually up before the book had released. It's a matter of when the monthly update is ready, I believe.

On the 21st's Pathfinder Tales blog, it said those chronicles would be added to the Additional Resources 'next week' along with the normal monthly update. If so, it should be up within the next few days.

Haven't given Intrigue a full read-through yet, going to wait until the book itself gets here probably. Going to definately take the first Legendary Influence feat though for my Medium, assuming it's not banned.

I can think of a lot of people who will be upset if it does not update today. But I suppose it is always nerve wracking when an update is in a race with a con.

John said it should be up soon in another thread. I'd be patient.

Personally, I got the impression that it should have gone live yesterday.

So... about that update.

On my to-do list! I'm catching up after recovering from surgery and having my team and various others out of the office in the last couple weeks. Will be up as soon as I have the chance :)

They (the folks @ paizo) are always uber busy. :D

Sorry, it was just the calmest way for me to vent. Also, speedy recovery and all that.

EDIT: Legitimate question, how much effort does it actually take to make the update. I do understand that you are busy, and the answer can wait. I am just wondering if it takes more effort than I think it does.

I'm not comfortable with disclosing the amount of "effort" it takes to do a given task (that may end up setting really unrealistic expectations for future projects to customers/community members). It's a matter of balancing with a number of other high priority items simultaneously.

Need I remind everyone, they also need to read the entire book from from cover to cover and 'understand' the ramifications of each archetype, item and option.

Chris. Can you just tell me one thing? Will metamorph alchemists and brute vigilantes be available?

So you're only doing a dozen extra things each this month? :D

Relax.. it won't kill any of us to wait till April <sometime or another>

Even if we think it will...

Agreed. I may be antsy as to see what is legal and what isnt, but I do have other options for the meantime.

i personally would like to wait, instead of having to go back and make changes.

It's less about reading the book in this case (that review is typically done by campaign management + VOs, from what I hear) and more about the fiddly bits of posting something like this. Looking at the page source for the AR, there are A LOT of HTML fiddly bits. If the page is being edited in HTML, "simple" things like editing the color of text involves silly tagging shenanigans. Then you have to question whether there are CSS changes. If you have a visual editor + source editor combo, it's slightly less onerous since you can clear the old color swaps in the visual editor, but without seeing it myself, I wouldn't go out on a limb for that.

Essentially, depending on the volume of changes, it can be really, really time consuming to put up a clean AR doc as a web page.

Thank you, that is what I was wondering about.

You have made some assumptions about how quickly I can read. ;)

I'm wondering if Inner Sea Faiths will be added to the Additional Resources. While it's not the most powerful feat, my cleric of Besmara might consider her deific obedience, just because it's so flavorful, and not completely useless for a tank like him.

Thanks for the update John!!

As one of those who were hoping it would have been released yesterday, I would rather it be delayed (especially for things such as correcting last minute errors or adding additional products) than it rushed out requiring an additional update.

I mean i would like them to take there time and get it right the first time, instead of having to force rebiulds later which is getting tiresome to see.

Please please please, take as much time as you need Mr. Compton. Making sure everything is great the first time stops a ton of fighting afterward.

It is much easier to ban something now than to ban it after people have it.

Thank you for the dedication to a good job!

@Chris Lambertz, Now that I have calmed down, I want to apologize and wish you a speed recovery, both from your operation, and catching up on all of your work.

@John Compton, I would greatly appreciate it if we could get a preview of what will be allowed from Ultimate Intrigue. I would like to start working on characters, and would hate to accidentally get a get attached to something that will be banned. Thank you in advance.

For now I pretty much only play in PFS... this is why I don't even read the book till the Additional Resources includes it. ^.^

Saves on heartache later.

Once the new Fencing Grace replaces the old Fencing Grace, will I be able to sell my bard's shield at full value?

I'm usually like that, too. I don't buy books unless I plan to use them for PFS, so I wait for them to be in the Additional Resources.

The one exception is the new Inner Sea Faiths, which has lots of fluff that I wanted to read, since three of my PCs worship gods covered in there. Even if I can't take the deific obedience for one of them that I'm considering, that'll be fine. I'm not 100% sure I want it, anyway.

Grand Lodge 3/5

I sure hope this drops today or tomorrow. My Medium just hit 5, and I may switch characters for my game tomorrow night until I can take Legendary Influence. :)

Ok, now that UI is in Additional Resources I noticed a few things.

How does Renown work in PFS? Can I say I spent the prior week building it up prior to the scenario?

I noticed all the Alternate rules were left out (Ch 3 & 4). Some of it would be useful especially on spells and skills.

Double Time is illegal.

Double Time is also a prerequisite for In Vogue.

Also, not sure why the gunmaster vigilante is illegal. Normally the gun archetypes get legalized if they get gunsmithing like a gunslinger, and the gunmaster does. They're also pretty tame considering they don't have full BAB or hidden strike.

So, Additional Resources are up, and no note that new Fencing Grace replaces the old one. Looks like if you have Advanced Class Origins you're still good.

(I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the issue that finally forces a clear statement from campaign leadership about interaction between multiple legal AR sources that don't agree.)

I wonder why the Cipher archetype didn't make the cut. It didn't seem too overpowered to me.

I wonder if Hallucinist was banned for any reason other than maturity?

One possible issue is that a lot of their abilities work best when you are on your own.

Actually, normally gun toting archetypes for non-gunslingers are illegal, with one exception that I am aware of. That exception is the Cavalier archetype Spellscar Drifter which is from the Inner Sea Combat book. Every other gun toting archetype for non-gunslingers is in the RPG line, thus not setting specific and has been deemed not fit for Golarion by PFS.

Case and point, Spellslinger and Holy Gun from Ultimate Combat both gain Gunsmithing, but are illegal. Same with Steel Hound in Advanced Class Guide.

EDIT: I forgot the archetypes in the tech guide (also a Golarion specific book), those are legal too.

I've normally made a note on Character Sheet where the renown location is. Maybe it should get noted on chronicle sheets when it gets changed? For scenarios that specifically refer to travelling with the party after VC meeting and with the adventure already underway, I'd probably say no time to develop renown in new location. For scenarios that say the party meets at a location (typically to see venture captain) with no word on where they started from, I allowed vigilantes to have plenty of time to have developed renown for whatever social background they got. But YMMV especially from scenario to scenario. Vigilantes would do themselves a service talking to GMs first and hoping table variation favours them.

If they don't specifically say that the new rule changes the old one, then both are valid, and you can choose which to use. Kinda like creating a PC with a race that has different attributes depending on which book you use to create it.

Why was the playtest made illegal on the 30th but the update was yesterday? Does this mean that anyone who used the playtest character before the update played illegal characters?

1/5

The file was done and ready(supposed) to go out on the 30th. But Chris had issues since he had a been out of the office and had extra work to catch up on.
But once the file is done they can't change it, otherwise they'd need to re-approve it and delay it even more.
