For James Sutter and Christopher Paul Carey's 1-on-1 editorial workshops that are in the system as being multiple hours long, is there a way we could register for another event during a part of that timeslot?
EX: On Sunday CPC has his workshop from 10am-3pm, and each individual session is only a half hour. I would also like to attend the Dramatic Narrative in RPG's panel from 11am-12pm.
There's an hour before, and three hours after, the Narrative panel where I could get a slot with CPC, but the system won't allow me to register for the panel, I can only get into CPC's slot, as it considers it a schedule conflict.

The people saying its not on your schedule are showing up on the back end side attendee list. We're currently trying to figure out why its not displaying and why it looks a little funky on our end.
I think this is good news, though I'm not certain what it means. I know you're busy, but when you have a moment, can you confirm that Simeon is signed up for Serpent's Ire? When he gets home from school he's going to ask about his schedule, and I sure would like to tell him he's in the special. (Obviously, if only one of us gets in, I'll give him my spot, but I'd far rather play it with him.)
I understand if you've got other priorities, just thought I'd ask.

You shouldn't be able to sign up for those events a head of time. You just go to the room, sign up on the sheet that will be there and then come back at that time.
You can go ahead and remove yourself from the editing event to sign up for the other events, otherwise we'll be cleaning those 1 on 1 editing events out in just a moment.

Is anyone having trouble getting Serpent's Ire to save?
I cannot get it onto my schedule.
Help!
I can click, it tells me to refresh to see the schedule, and nothing.
Yeah, a lot of people are reporting this - though the number of people signed up keeps climbing, so not everyone is having this issue.

*sniff*. I didn't get any lottery events either.
First time in four years that's happened to me, and it happened to another friend too. I wondered if it was an issue with the lottery, but it does seem others got their lottery games.
Hey, rknop! We've played in some fun games together (my son Simon was in your Jatembe game two years ago, and we all played Kill Them With Kindness together last year), and I've got another friend who will be joining us at PaizoCon, let's put together a game for one of the open afternoons! PM me if you're interested, eh?

I have a sort of dumb question—is there any way to just gift an event? My girlfriend is going to give me her slot for something we didn't both get into.
We'd love to get it correctly on my schedule. But it doesn't look possible for me to say I want an event without offering something in return so she can just fulfill the one-sided trade.
Is our best option for me to pick something up just to give up in the trade? And then I'm assuming she can drop it to release it back to the general population.

Ok, there are 7 people who are in serpent's ire that won't see it displayed on their events page. The system appears to be counting them in the total number of attendees. The tech team found what they are pretty sure caused it and it appears to not be affecting any additional people signing up. The bug means that for those 7 people, the button does not do anything (but please do not keep clicking it). Tech team is working on getting the data causing the issue back into the state it needs to be so it will display correctly on your events schedule.

OK, somehow got stuck in a lottery event I didn't request which overlaps with Friday morning session, preventing me from getting into the morning session I want. Suggestions?
From the logs it shows the preferences for the Goblin event was set to 2. It was the highest ranked event that was available when the lottery got to your account for Friday events.

Not only I didn't get any events on the lottery, to make it even more interesting, there are ZERO games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday afternoon that are open... (no, Adventure Card Guild doesn't count)
It's going to be a very slow con this year...
Does anyone know if any "After season 5" PFS scenarios (aside from season 0 reborn & Adventure card guild) will be run in the afternoon for Fri, Sat, Sun? Warhorn event, Paizo event, etc..
I'm flying from across the country to attend this (first time excited!) and hope to find some PFS in the afternoon that counts for play.RyanH |
@Caio: sorry, for your disappointment... may I recommend ...
1. Crayon of Vecna - Drawing, was a fun diversion with great subjects (I think Valeros will be there as a model?!)
2. Either Celebrity game - Live Pathfinder played by Paizo Staff. Very funny. Nice diversion.
3. Many of the sessions interest me.
I also hope to have time to talk with the artists in the store, do the Reaper Paint N' Take and play some delves.
I'm sure there'll be afternoon pick-up games. OR take the afternoon off, and then play society in the evening.

I actually didn't get events either, except a couple I hadn't even signed up for, and nothing for two of the four days, which, Monday's always iffy, but nothing Friday too, and events I had put 0's in? Not so sure the lottery's working so well this year...
Don't think of it that way! The lottery felt so bad it couldn't put you in the events you wanted, it gave you some spots in open events! It's generous like that. :-)
Seriously, had a similar issue and ended up dropping the random event I got, so no lottery events this year. But stuff like that happens - it is a lottery. Besides, lots of otber cool stuff going on in tbe open slots and pick up games will spring up like wheat.

Had my heart set on three items, but I'm philosophical about it, it's very much not the end of the world for not getting them, and it frees up my afternoons to hopefully get my bard some play.
Also did NOT win the 'boobie' prize of Cosmo's Railroad, so that's a plus?

Keep an eye open. I have gotten into all sorts of crazy rare stuff by checking in frequently. A game James Jacobs ran was sitting around open for like an hour last year.

There's some events that I signed up for and would have been ecstatic to get, but I'd never set my heart on any of them. When there's six spots and a few hundred people on average ahead of you, it's not called the lottery for nothing.
My weekend is so full of things right now though that I am worried about sleep. I will like drop a couple of afternoon spots to deal with that.
@ Paizo Scheduling/Tech team... thanks and good work! Everything seems to have gone off with minimal issues. Just all us idiots hitting refresh right at 2:00 pm... DDoS attack!

Here's something interesting -- Serpent's Ire doesn't show up for me when I click on "looking for players" in the filters... maybe there's something going on there?

I have someone looking for a good RPG intro (all the beginner box stuff is full). Would this be a good session for that
Pathfinder Society Quest: Phantom Phenomena
Are there other good complete-beginner sessions? (still available)
I recently GM'ed these, and at least one of the players was completely new. They're not beginner box level, but they're pretty manageable, and there's enough time to take them pretty slow if players need to do so for guidance, explanations, head-scratching, etc.

How do we find out if we're one of the 7? :-)

Good question... 'cause last I knew both MisterSlanky and I were affected... and if you are, too, Ron, that's 3/7 of the folks.
And it hasn't made it to my schedule... I will wait and see if it magically makes it there tomorrow AM.

One of the local Venture Captains or Lieutenants will be organizing games in the afternoon slot. I'm fuzzy on the details but there will be PFS games available.

Any way for the 7 to get notice of who we are so we can confirm? I believe I may be one of the seven.

A large part of going to paizocon for me is meeting the staff and putting faces to names - is there a good chance of bumping into people just by kind of "milling around" as a fan (whilst trying not to look too stalker)?
Yes. Another option is attending some of the seminars where they're speaking, like James Jacobs at Ask the Paizo GMs.
Does everyone get rostered on to some booth/stall/etcetera over the weekend?
My recollection is no but you'll see random staffers running the delve and can try to get in there.

I know it's being worked on but wanted to add myself to the list of people who added but don't see Serpent's Ire for Sunday evening.

Cheers. I've booked into a few of the seminars. But I'm also meaning people like the warehouse crew and CS staff. (Will never answers my emails, so he'll have to take a compliment face to face. :p)

It's not like the hotel is a big spread out convention like GenCon. You will absolutely be able to spot us in our blue Paizo shirts. Many of us might be running from place to place to take care of things or make it to our next panel or game, but we're around on site all weekend. Make sure you say "hi" to me when you see me. I like meeting the fans, especially ones that have been around for a long time and are good folks.
