Best build for weaponizing harrow cards / playing cards?

Advice

As the title asks. I was wondering what might be the best build almost completely focused on weaponizing and generally doing awesome things with playing cards / harrow cards.

Is it the witch archetype? Cartomancer I think it was called? Maybe a Far Strike monk with Deadly Dealer feat if possible?

Also, any other neat and useful tricks one could do with said cards (aside from standard street magic that is)?

The Card Caster Magus has some nice features.

Startoss is a great thing to snag with that I think.
and it sure has some great mental image synergy. Card flying around to targets etc~~

cartomancer or card caster are the best bets I think.

Scarab Sages

Cartomancer Witch will be more about delivering touch spells with her cards. If you want to do damage with the cards themselves, I would use the magus archetype.

I guess I'll be looking into the Magus a bit then. Thanks everyone.

Speaking of which, is there a way to make the card deck "regrow" cards or have them not be destroyed upon a hit? Harrow decks are meant to be fairly valuable in lore.

Not that I know of. Note, that the cards the witch throws are indestructable after a few levels - but they never do more than 1 point of damage, if I recall. The magus' cards are destroyed as soon as they hit their target, though, and there's no workaround (unless you can convince your GM that adamantine cards are reasonable, and that one's up to interpretation whether it works even then).

^As far as I know, only Cartomancer Witch can make the cards not be destroyed when used as weapons. WARNING specific to 2nd level: This ability kicks in only at 3rd level, while the Deadly Dealer ability comes online at 2nd level . . . And your spellbook is your Harrow Deck. Just sayin'.

It occurred to me that it's not 100% clear how the "conserving" enchantment would work on a Harrow deck. Opinions?

How horrible would a 3 lv. dip into cartomancer be? I know you get the same deadly dealer feat again, so that's redundant and a waist, but you'd get cards that don't get destroyed and they'd have the returning property on them. Still probably horrible overall I'm sure. You'd still get at least one witch hex out of it though.

Would variant multiclassing help here in getting both of those particular abilities? Still not familiar with those specific rules.

Variant multiclassing doesn't help here unless you went primary class Cartomancer Witch and VMC Magus, although even then you don't get the full benefits of it, because VMC doesn't support archetypes in the VMC class, so you don't get the Card Casters Harrowed Strike, just (at 11th level) the regular Magus Spellstrike. Going the other way, Magus VMC Witch, is absolutely terrible -- not only do you not get the Cartomancer Witch abilities, but VMC Witch would be the worst VMC of all, except that VMC Gunslinger manages to be even worse. Go to Variant Multiclassing and see what I mean.

Good to know. Thanks for the info.

A 5th level Card Caster Magus has the ability to give his thrown weapons the returning property, so it's *possible* that the intent was for him to be able to reuse the cards in that manner.
