So I was looking into Cavalier....

Rules Questions

So I was looking into Cavalier,
which lead to Teamwork Feats,
which lead to Betrayal Feats,
which lead to several questions....

Mind you, all feats come from Pathfinder Player Companion: Champions of Corruption. (Do NOT Google this, and do not use the Acronym please).

1) Would it count as an evil act to use a Betrayal Teamwork Feat using an ally who never willingly took that feet? Such as if I use a Cavalier to give all my allies Friendly Fire or Wild Flanking, would it be evil to force them into this feat without the characters consent? (Obviously I would ask them OOC, but IC they would have no idea whats going on).

2) Would it be tactical to use these Betrayal Feats with someone who wouldn't necessarily be hurt by them? What are good Ally Classes to force these betrayal feats on? Specifically the Friendly Fire (Gain bonus to hit the enemy. If you miss, attack your ally. Either way, ally gains an attack of opportunity against the targeted enemy). Additionally, who would work well with Wild Flanking? (Mind you, I'm also GIVING this feat to them, so they can go berzerk and Wild Flank me right back if they wanted to).

3) Would both me and my ally use Reckless Moves to gain a +2 bonus to all those written skills as opposed to the +4 // -2 from the feat? Would there be any benefit to this?

4) What rules apply to Betrayal Feats that don't seem obvious just by looking at them on Paizo Online?

1. No. It would be a douche move, but that's not evil. Chaotic at best.

2. Wild Flanking works best on allies with DR, as it can negate part or all the Power Attack damage. Also works for allies with concealment like invisible ninjas.

3. Shruggies.

4. Noclue.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

For 1).. You can't do it like that.

Betrayal Feat Rule wrote:
Characters with class abilities granting allies access to teamwork feats (such as cavaliers or inquisitors) can select these teamwork feats normally, but allies who are granted these feats can use the feats only as initiators, not as abettors. An inquisitor could not grant an ally the Ally Shield feat and then use the ally as a shield, for example, but he could allow that ally to use him as a shield.

So it ironically becomes the opposite of betrayal.

Ok this gives me an awesome Idea for a fighter with a familiar, that he uses as a meat shield.

@Cleru - Well that made things a lot less fun... I was already making plans with my friend Barbarian in order to smash stuff between the two of us taking terns smashing the enemy and each other without him wasting a feat for it.

@Artifix - you should post it on the advice or talk thread so I can see your ideas!
