Heya all,
So my big "Thppt Cox" day was a bust, :/
Turns out I cannot get Direct TV, too many tall trees in my backyard.
(Another reason for them to die!)
There was a conflict of information regarding availability of Uverse in my neighborhood. So the tech left and might return if it all works out. Good news, I can get Uverse in my hood, so I CAN get my tv/interwebs/phone thru ATT.
Sadly, the change in order puts my 'no equipment rental fees' and other bonuses out the window, as they did away with that offer this weekend. And the prices are different. SO I'm not saving nearly as much as I was going to. :(
Sigh, Time to call LUS for a price check. :P

I've had a migraine since yesterday. And my knee hurts. And my back hurts. I have a game this weekend for 19th level/average Mythic Tier 6 characters and I have no idea what I'm going to run them on, though I've had 3 weeks to think about it.
So yeah, that's how I'm going.

Right now I'm managing my expectations that this Christmas won't entirely suck...but considering both my brothers won't be here for Christmas Eve nor here when we (my mom and I) awake Christmas day...it will just show me that 2017 is a sucky year.
But at least I won't have to worry about how many presents I have to buy! :P

That's what I said to myself too Cal. I told my mom. "We need to go do something together, especially since I can pay with my "dime" for us to do something fun and Christmas-y."
Cal- Lol, I keep telling the police at the random checkpoints (particularly around holidays and ball games) "I'm strictly an over the counter guy. I can't afford the good stuff!" ;)

I, personally, plan to break my diet so hard that it squeals like a pig and begs for mercy! ;D

I’m passing the time at a TGI Friday’s bar. There is an older lady sitting next to me who is super drunk and talking everybody’s ear off. I have to practice my best surly expression to avoid her messy small talk. I’m aiming for somewhere in between, “I’m pissed at the world” and “I just got out of prison.”

Descendants of my old, and widely loved character. Yes, I played a familiar in D&D game. The party liked me more than my wizard. Him having Charisma of 4 didn't help much, though I prefer to think it was my awesomeness that made them love me. And feed me. And pet me...

I think I read in a Dragon mag article about how one Wiz PC died, and without missing a beat, the player had the familiar reveal to the party that the familiar was the wizard the entire time. The human everyone thought was the wiz was really the tiny creatures familiar the whole time.

I finally have Wi-Fi. It is glorious. And the speed test is showing me consistently in the 50 MPS range. Much better than any service I’ve gotten before. Let’s hope it doesn’t drop

before i have ATT replace my Cox tomorrow (After the last epic fail attempt) I'm going to call LUS (Local Fiber service)
the lowest LUS provides at a reasonable cost is 60Mbps up and down.
Far better than ATT's 25, (in my neighborhood, seems the competitor is right, they dont have the same speeds everywhere yet)
which as much as I dislike Cox, at least they had me with 30/10Mbps (sometimes less)

I can get 50 Mbsp for only $10 more than the very reasonable price I pay for 25. But since I don't play online games and very seldom download anything but .docs and .pdfs I don't see any need for faster internet at this point. But I am a bit jealous!

I do play the occasional online game, but only to stay in touch with my friends. (I detest most online games, I prefer the old boxed PC games) and 25 is more than fast enough for the casual online gamer with VERY few exceptions.
But, But, But,.... 60MBPS PER SECOND!!!!!! O_O

That's about as much "celebrating" of this particular holiday that anyone I know does.
You would think being stuck in a house that sits on 2 ares with a lake view would be pretty nice...especially since you don't have to walk dogs...but honestly I feel a tad...lonely. Probably because I have no cable and DirectTV stuff is limited. So...yeah.
Plus side, I did start binging some of The Punisher.
