Everything in moderation. I like a turkey about four times a year. It’s a special treat, IMO it doesn’t lend itself to regular consumption.

So it looks like I’m going from Mass to Chicago just after Christmas. I’ll be using I90, looks like, if anyone want to grab a bite with me that’s on that route let me know.

I-90 passes by about two miles north of my apartment.

Sweet! I’ll likely be in your area say dinner on the 27th? I think?

I think my apprenticeship meets that day at 8 PM, so it would have to be an early-ish dinner.

I wish people would come visit ME for my birthday (Dec 11th) or Christmas...

Actually Syracuse is closer than I thought. We could do lunch maybe?

Hey there Dave. I hope things are going well for you.

Does that mean you're coming to visit?

It's probably best everyone stay as far away from me on my birthday as possible.

but that's when i was coming to visit!

I was bringing chocolate cake! Just for you!

Welp, sounds like everyone survived the Turkey-coma Day! :)

Fortunately, I did not have to cook the Thanksgiving dinner this time, (we had it at my sis in laws house) Which was a good thing, because my wife was too busy trying to complete her final assignment for her college course, (she is adding more certifications onto her teaching certificate)

So, I spent MY 'break' building a catapult so my daughter can get a passing grade in Physics! :)

Barely fit in my trunk, with the back seat down, but it got there. NOW if it launches the golf ball far enough, she will get an A.

While I was building it my son came out to the garage and saw how big it was. He thought I was building it out of Popsicle sticks or something. THEN he got interested.

I foresee backyard wars in our future. ;P

So, I haven't been on the interwebs all weekend, getting back today.

HAve officially cancelled the new service I was supposed to get with ATT. I'm going with LUS and their holiday special. I'll NOW get hooked up on Dec 4th.
This had better be worth the wait. :P

I’m pretty happy with FIOS (so far)

Just checked with my instructor-- no class that day.

Cool. I’m hoping to be passing by your way around noon, if all goes well

I'm sorry, that is nowhere near where I am or where I am going...

:( I guess I'll have to run Krampus by myself then...

Sorry, Thomas. December 11th is a workday for me. :(

I know. I typically don't like it when my birthday doesn't fall on a weekend.

And, there's the Greyhound trips to Morgantown and back.

It's not great no. Especially since my 2002 Subaru Forester isn't going to last much longer. (I say mine but honestly it was my brother's who gave it to me so he could get my mom's 2006 Toyota Highlander and she got herself a 2017 Subaru Forester.)

Oof. I sympathize. My 2003 Taurus is in the shop again for the fourth time in two years. This time because it seems to have gotten finicky at random about whether it will start or not.

Happy end of the month to all!

We survived another one! :)

That second and third week had me concerned there, Ragadolf.

Othros, well it's better than my 2003 Ford Focus that blew a head gasket and thus made me decide to go this route. That...and the dealership I sold it to TOTALLY screwed me. So...yeah.

Ugh. Dealerships.

One of the few people/places that I WON'T give any second chances to! :P

I have a 2002 Honda CR-V with 247K miles on it. I love it and it's been a great vehicle. But it needs so much work now that I'm afraid to drive it anywhere beyond the city limits. Estimates put repairs around $3000. A sum that is astronomical and utterly unattainable for me.

Cal,

I'm not worried about driving beyond Morgantown...just beyond a 200 mile range...

Ragadolf,

I'm firmly in that camp right now.

I think an old college friend lives in or around Morgantown. I may have to look them up on FB.

Well if you come by, make sure stop by Mario's Fishbowl. Best watering hole in Morgantown. ;)

Happy Monkey is Happy?

;)

Whazzup?

So what are everyone's plans for the weekend?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Decorating outside the house and hopefully fixing the bush lights so they don't need to sort of stretch to connect each other...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I really don't have anyway to plug in outside lights and I don't have much room for a tree in my living room. So a friend bought me a vintage ceramic tree for me to sit on an end table. It's pretty nice. I love Christmas decorations; just don't have much of a way to display them.

Now I HAVE to post how my house is decorated for Christmas, if only to make you jealous. :p ;)

You're a cruel man, Thomas Seitz. :p

I have been known to be such, yes.

Work tomorrow morning.
A friend's birthday after that.
PnP Savage Tide after that.
A short NWN event after that.

Sunday church in the morning.
Quiet afternoon with no plans, probably hanging out with GF online.
Church in the evening.
Hang out with GF more through the evening until bedtime.

Sounds like a pretty good plan! I figure I'll be cleaning house mostly. I have a dog sitter coming next weekend while I'm at weekend long gaming and Christmas party weekend. I'm not a great housekeeper and the layers of dust and cobwebs show it.

I am going to the middle of nowhere in Massachusetts for about two weeks for the first job for training.

I am not looking forward to this.
