Okay, guys. I'm in the hospital, and have been assigned a room after spending the entire day in the ER. I've got good news, bad news, and semi-good news. The good news is that I didn't have a mini-stroke, although I am at risk due to high blood pressure. The bad news is that my vision problem is from a pituitary tumor of some sort that is putting pressure on the nerves behind my right eye. The semi-good news it that the tumor doesn't appear to be malignant, and cen probably be treated without surgery.

I'm so sorry, John. It's bad enough dealing with health issues without doing the massive research project that is figuring out insurance nowadays.
My insurance got changed and I can't get my BP pills until I figure out what is going on. All I remember getting in the mail are loads and loads of huge books but no instructions and no new card. (Fortunately, I stockpiled my old meds so have a couple of weeks emergency supply.)
Sending positive vibes your way, man.

And now, I've learned that the insurance provided by my employer is inadequate. It's only for Dental and Vision, and doesn't cover Hospital visits. Seriously considering "jumping ship." Or training for a different career entirely. I am so disappointed.
Wait, they have no core medical? Is this a small business? If they have over 25 employees that is not legal.
Or are you part time?

It was fine. I did the right thing in cutting a number, as my endurance is not what it would be otherwise. Two of our best singers weren't in this concert, so I came out looking like the star, cold and all.
The concert tonight is more singing, but the solo work is easier.
Did I mention I f#+%ing slayed that second concert, cold and all? I made a bunch of middle aged women cry with my Robert Goulet-inspired rendition of "If Ever I Would Leave You". F#*$ yeah.

Glad to hear that.

I don't know. When my ordeal is over, I'm going to have a little talk with the HR secretary. And, if I don't receive a satisfactory answer, I'm walking. It's sad to have to end a twenty-year security career, but I'll do what's necessary. I'm so very disappointed in them right now.

Business trip to Las Vegas has been a success. Today I won over $1,000 at the casinos.
I recall years ago, my mom dropped my oldest brother off at the airport for a very early morning flight, then she stopped at the casino on a whim for some slot machine action.
Then it was 0730 and I was being woken up by my excited mother to tell me she had just won $1000.

Big meeting with a client scheduled three weeks in advance for today. Two hours before meeting, client cancels and asks to reschedule for a day I specifically told them I couldn't do. I guess "paying attention" is something they stopped teaching in grade school a couple years after I came up through. Now, since I cleared my schedule for the day and postponed a big side job for the meeting, I guess I'll just go and sit on my ass doing nothing until I have to go to work tomorrow.

Update: 3 hours after canceling, client calls me and asks if they can meet with me in 15 minutes. Ended up having the meeting after all, and it was productive, but the whole thing was still very stressful.
