Hello there all. I have a bit of a strange question, but I thought you fine people might be able to aid me in an answer. So the main thing is I had a thought about trying to formulate a a stealth oriented, spellcastery type character. The things is that I wanted to see how possible it would be to make a character that focuses on sneaking around, but employs things like teleportation spells and illusions to get around and avoid harm. Do any of you know if this is too farfetched or could this be possible with the right build and know-how?

Arcane Trickster -> More spellcastery rogue.
Shadowdancer -> More non-spellcastery rogue.
Both will give you teleportation stuff and illusions, though Trickster will give you more of both.
For the Arcane Trickster, use Conjuration(Teleportation) Wizard as your school specialization and you will have a minor teleportation as a swift action. It ends your turn and you won't go too far, but there is the dimensional agility line of feats if you REALLY want them.

I'd recommend Sylph Wizard from the Teleportation School so you can begin teleporting right away...
As a Sylph, you can get higher stealth ranks than anyone. You can focus on illusion spells if you want since the school ability will cover all your teleportation needs. Take the Trapfinder trait if your GM allows (giving you the ability to disarm magic traps), you'll be better than most rogues at sneaking and of course, teleporting.
Just an FYI though, your damage output will be super-low. You're building on theme, not power.

And Bard. Always Bard.
Agreed. Try the sandman. Pick locks, cast spells and stab backs. With the feats in dirty tactics you can buff up lost sneak attack dice by a bit with accomplished sneak attacker.
Some jaunt boots are really what you want tho.
When you teleport you get no further actions for the turn. Jaunt boots allow a 5 foot step t be 15 3 times a day with no side effects.
Rogue need to get into place to be effective. This allows you to move 15 feet and still do a full attack. Just wait for a friend to charge, do a 15 foot port and start hitting.

I would go with Psychic, maybe with VMC. You've got access to the teleportation spells, everything you cast is silent, and you've got plenty of skill points. You get Knock, Invisibility, Dimension Door, Teleport, and the full illusion line-up.
Similarly, Mesmerist rather than Bard because Bard spells can't be silenced even with metamagic. You've got lots of options for making people forget they saw you if something does go wrong.

As a Sylph, you can get higher stealth ranks than anyone.
Except for every small sized race ever. Especially halflings who get the +4 size bonus and +2 racial bonus, and goblins, who get +4 size and +4 racial and also have a +4 to dex so get 1 more point from that. Or if you want to retain the intelligence bonus for casting, ratfolk with the skulk trait or Wayangs: also +4 size, +2 racial

Shush, there aren't enough Sylphs around... :/ Besides, who wants to be "small"?!? :P

I converted an 8th level NPC 1e fighter/assassin into a Ranger/Fighter/Rogue. She had a greater ring of spell storing that was charged up by a 9th level wizard. Dimension door, invisibility and Lightning bolt were the three spells typically stored on the ring.
The party were terrified of her, she kept stalking them and attacking from stealth, often striking with the lightning bolt as soon as discovered and retreating using the dimension door before the party could seriously threaten her.
