Advice on Nagaji Dragon Disciple

Advice

Okay, so I thought it'd be cool and kinda flavorful to have a Nagaji built up into a Dragon Disciple, but, while there is a pretty awesome guide on making a DD, I'm still really new to idea of prestige classes. Other members of the local lodge have said they think DD isn't worth pursuing or very good at all, so I'm hesitant to start down the long road to building one without any sort of advice.
My current plan is to mix sorcerer with paladin, so I get both divine and arcane spells, and then go for a golden dragon when I hit the appropriate level for the prestige class, as that kinda matches the paladin flavor, but, once again, I'm not sure how viable or wise that is. At this point, it's just an idea, so I have no tentative stats or feats selected. Heck, I haven't even named the character yet.
Anyway, if you have advice either on the prestige class, my current plan, or maybe a better option for my Nagaji, please post it here.

1 level of sorcerer 4 paladin and then some DD is a very good way to DD. here is a guide that if you haven't read you should as it'll do the most help for you.

You won't actually get divine spells, much at all, though.

Assume you go Paladin 4/Sorcerer 1. You'll get your first set of 1st level spells, assuming your Wisdom is high enough, at that point. Going into Dragon Disciple doesn't advance your Paladin spell casting ability. If you do what most people do, going the next 10 levels of DD, you will not get 2nd level divine spells until character level 18 at the earliest, if you just go back to Paladin exclusively after completing the DD prestige class. For the entirety of the 10 levels of DD, your character would have 1 first level divine spell, most likely.

You might want to look at the Bloodrager class in the Advanced Class Guide. The dragon bloodline in particular is meant to emulate the Dragon Disciple Prestige Class, but from level 1. Nagaji are also fantastic bloodragers, since the class requires having good strength to stab things and good charisma to cast.

Oh, BTW, Paladin is actually a great synergy with DD, but I'd probably only take two levels. You'd get one Smite per day to deal with pesky Damage Reduction when you really need it, but more importantly, you get Cha bonus to saves.

What zo you want out of a dd?
Durable magic user
Sword with a little magic
Or az much even as you can?

The Exchange

Try 3 Flame Dancer Bard / 2 Paladin / DD. Get an eversmoking bottle and you can see through the smoke while attacking things. Has a cool dragon flavor to it I feel.

I appreciate all the advice you guys have posted here. In the end, I think I'll go with the Bloodrager idea suggested by Ventnor. Perhaps when I become more experienced in Pathfinder and understand more about multiclassing and prestige classes, I'll return to this idea. But for now I think I'll give the bloodrager a try, especially since I've never been that good with magic-using classes.

If you still want to go Dragon Disciple, that prestige class will advance the bloodrager Draconic bloodline. FAQ.
