As the title says, I'm having issues trying to post to a gameplay thread for my initial post in a PbP game. I am able to post in any other thread, except for gameplay. I have tried posting with different characters and that doesn't work either. It seems nobody else is having issues in the game but me. Here is the game in question.

A few things that have been tried on our end:
I've tried to make the game inactive and then active once more.
We have tried to post with different avatars and then go back to edit post.
Has attempted to Sign off and then sign back in.
Has attempted to post after another individual did.
The player has not yet become attached to the game because he can not. Likewise, I can not remove him from the Campaign and then set him as attached.

So, I've recreated the entire campaign manually in our system and flipped a few different switches to try to show the campaign on your campaigns tab, but can't seem to figure out the issue. However, I am able to replicate your account post successfully in the gameplay thread now. I'll let the tech team know about this issue and see if there's something I've overlooked.

You should be able to access it here. It may take overnight for the site to catch up to the change. Many apologies for the troubles here, we're noticing an uptick in campaign issues, and I'm bringing them to tech's attention to see when we can get some of this resolved.

I am still unable to access the Campaign <Editing> Tab for THIS GAME. Would it be possible to copy this url
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1foxz_nrlnLPFSYWdEFJ2c5eUHCMGg_U3_tf Tdyt0YgE/edit?usp=sharing
into the very bottom of the "Short Description" Text Box.
From what I can tell, it seems I am no longer the "owner" of the Campaign, even though I am listed as such. When I went back to look at it last night, it noted a new post had ben made you, (as the original post in the thread), so I think I might have lost access to the thread and am now just following it.
Additionally, would it be possible to copy/paste this into the Short Description Text Box just above the Link to the Map, please? (adding a "]" back in after the very first and very last spoiler code, and each of the dice codes please)

Basically so it looks just like this:
When a samsaran dies, he is reborn again with few memories of his past lives. The cycle continues until he has earned a righteous place in the afterlife. After years of service and lifetimes of accomplishment, Venture-Captain Bakten nears the end of his noble existence and has begun investigating his past lives as a means of understanding Tian Xia's rich history. However, he cannot complete his research alone, and only with the PCs' assistance can they decipher the region's past.

Eric: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Rivani: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Seinaru: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Wow, that is weird. So, on one hand, it did seem to fix the issue. One the other, it's acting very strange now.
Let me try to organize this a bit better before posting. ha ha That first attempt was a bit confusing following my actual process of going through this all.
Ok. So I went to My Campaigns, and I do still have the Game, Discussion, and Recruitment threads listed there. (Just to be clear, that had not been a problem before). But, when I try to click on them, it instead takes me to the "Did you inherit a Play by Post" Online Campaigns boards page, and not to the associated threads.
This is also true for the links posted above:
You should be able to access it here.
I am still unable to access the Campaign <Editing> Tab for THIS GAME.
They take me to the same place. I finally tracked down the Discussion Thread to the game, and it was the only one that did work. From there, I was able to go to all six of the other Tabs (Campaign, Gameplay, Discussion, Players, and Characters), and also was able to edit the Campaign.
Hopefully, by posting again in the threads it will fix all other issues.
<EDIT>
Okay, so I tried to make a post in the Gameplay thread, (with the intent of also doing one in the Discussion and then Recruitment tread right afterwards), and after I hit post, it took me to a very different page.
It's basically blank except that it says:
Untitled Campaign
Game Master
And just below that it shows the six Tabs (Campaign, Gameplay, etc. . .), and a small line that reads "The Game Master has not yet connected the <campaign/game/discussion/recruitment> thread for this campaign.", but every single one of them goes to the same blank page. Only the Player and the Character Tabs are slightly different, listing only myself, (and the avatar looks a bit off, but I can't really put my finger on how).
Let me say thank you for all of our effort. Even if it's not fixed, the effort is very much appreciated. You mentioned above that it might take a bit for the system to catch up, so it's also entirely possible that is the case here, and I'll certainly wait a while just to see if this was a strange glitch.

All of the issues you've detailed sound like your instance hasn't quite caught up with the changes. I'm looking at it while simulating your account and it's caught up locally. I'd say that once our instances refresh (this generally occurs overnight), you should be sorted out. This is the URL your "Campaigns" tab should start pointing at: http://paizo.com/campaigns/DMBsPFSPbPGD4TheLostLegacy37GAME.
I'm sorry for the continued kerfluffle, hopefully letting it sort itself out overnight will completely solve this one :)

No worries. I (and I'm certain at least 6 other individuals) greatly appreciate all of your efforts. Especially this late in the evening. Please don't feel like you need to rush on our account.

I'm having this problem as well, gameplay thread with an issue is here.
This is my first time running a campaign as well, is there a way I could have boneheaded it? It's weird, when I post to gameplay the post doesn't show up but the character posting is added to the characters list.
Also, if I should start a new thread let me know.

Hey Clarence, it looks like the problem was that the first person in that thread deleted their post (causing it to get a bit borked). I've since removed that thread from your campaign and you should be good to go to start a fresh new one :)
Figured I'd go hunting to see if anyone else had the same problem I just did, and I'm glad I did instead of just starting a ne thread.
I did this same thing with a campaign I started recently, and it's preventing posts from showing up.
If you could delete the thread (or whatever else needs to be done) I'd appreciate it.

I'm having the same issue as the others. My first post was in my Gameplay thread by accident, which I then deleted. Could you fix that for me?
Here is a link to the Gameplay thread that is having issues.
GM Dinketry |
Dear Chris,
I'm having the same issue as all the rest. First time PbP GM. Sorry for the fuss.
Here's the link to the Gameplay tab that won't work.
Thanks for all you do.

It's been a while since this has been posted on, but rather than starting a new thread I'll use this one.
I've got a player trying to post in This game thread with no luck. I had originally made the mistake of creating a game thread and deleting the first post, but when I couldn't make another post in the game thread I created a new campaign that I could post in and moved the old discussion into the new campaign. The other players who have tried to post in the new campaign have had no issues, but one of them, Helgash, has not been able to post there with any of their accounts, though they can still post in the discussion thread.
Any help we could get allowing Helgash to post in the campaign would be lovely!
Thanks!

My guess is that Helgash is trying to dot the thread by posting "." There is an anti-spam measure on Paizo.com that prevents identical posts from submitting on the same page; since Tristan Luckbringer already posted "." the new post won't take.
If Helgash types out "dot" or posts ".." or literally anything else that doesn't exactly copy another post on the page, the post should submit correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion! He was able to post about five hours after I made my post here, whether because someone made a change behind the scenes, the system just took a while to get settings sorted on its own, or something else like the potential dot issue (I can't tell from my end.) I did pass that along as advice about a duplicate based on earlier posts in this thread and though that wasn't mentioned as having been the solution, but it could have been.
Thanks to anyone who did make changes if they did, and thanks again for the suggestion, Joana!
