Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
My Steam decided to update some games today!
1) Death Road to Canada: 456.0 KB!
2) Fallout Shelter: a heafty 26.3 MB!
3) Batman - The Telltale Series: 12.9 gigabytes
... what?! Did... did I miss something? Is that considered "normal" now? Twelve-point-nine gigabytes! That... that seems insane!
Also suddenly explains why my internet has been spotty, at best, today!

Starfinder! Whew! It sure is keeping us busy! Between that and GenCon overwhelmed is a light word for it all. It's a super exciting release though, and a really cool game! Excited for GenCon next week as well! If anyone reading is going, stop by the Starfinder kiosk by the Sagamore Ballroom and say hello. I'll be stationed there all weekend.
Games sure are big these days. My PS4 regularly does 4-12 gig updates to games.

Does the fact that I had a dream about getting my Starfinder shipping notice last night factor into when an order ships.
I assume your order spawning system has gained at least some sentience by now.
We are experimenting with dream technology. We plan to use it to build hype for the books as we ship them out. Sounds like it is working. I'll let the tech team know.

Hello! Sorry I haven't replied, we are swamped and overwhelmed.
I strongly suspect my first character will be an envoy. It looks like a fun class! I'm not sure yet on theme, but likely the pilot one or something kind of gunslingerish (I haven't really had time to sit down with the book and absorb everything yet so these answers may be a little vague).
My favorite race is always human (I am one!), but I may try out some Vesk and Lashunta too.
Favorite pact world I am not sure on yet. Still reading up on all of them. Will let you know when I know more. Odds are good it will be Absalom Station though.
What ship would I want? The Enterprise A and E. I haven't gone over all of the ships in the book though, so I don't have a for real answer yet. I did some playtest on one of the Starfinder Society scenarios and I really enjoyed the smaller, faster of the 2 ship options there were for that.
I was at the Indy airport when the eclipse was going on. I was able to borrow a coworkers eclipse glasses and look at it a bit. It was really cool!
Thank you for the kind words! It has been a frantic few weeks. Now back to the email mines!

Rise, thread, riiiiiiise!
You must rise so that Diego will answer my banal, and/or (hopefully) fun questions!!
Muwahahahah!
Hello!
How are you, today?
Also, on a scale of "yes," "definitely," or "absolutely!!!" How good an idea is it, to have a memory-wiped Aboleth character in the Ruins of Azlant AP?
Also, do you know if I got the grammar right on that?
Also, did you know that any accusation that I copy/pasted my own question to another person (with slight edits to make it work in-context) is outrageous and why I've never?
:D

Howdy! I am doing well. How about you?
I haven't had a chance to read any of Ruins of Azlant, though I really want to! So I am going to go with some combination of all 3 of those.
I'm no editor but it looked good enough for me, I am confident I understood what you meant.
I did not know that. Thank you for the heads up!
I have seen all of the Marvel Netflix shows. In fact I have seen all of the Marvel TV stuff including whats been released of Inhumans and The Gifted. I thought both seasons of Daredevil were good. I really enjoyed Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Defenders. I thought Iron Fist was the weakest of them all and I wish it would have been about Coleen Wing instead of Danny Rand.

Tacticslion |

I'm doing well, thank you!
I actually haven't either, but the few snippets and visuals I've seen and heard sound exciting!
Huzzah! Editing-approved!
And I'm always glad to be informative!
RE: Marvel: so far, I solidly agree with your assessment. I actually watched Iron Fist first, and, honestly, I'm glad I did. It's slower and weaker than either DD (S1 or 2) or JJ, and the build up to the <first revealed villain> works better, I think, if you've not run into <that villain>, whereas DD just throws <that same villain> in plain sight right away. I've not watched Luke', yet, though after JJ I'm hyped for it!
In fact, after watching IF, I went back and watched DD S1, JJ, and am now in DD S2 so I can do the whole chronological thing.
I think of the two DD seasons, 1 was better, but 2 has really solid story and character building - it's just slower. It's also painful, because it deals with the loss of naivete and shows the very real costs of idealism - always bitter pills to swallow - even as it tries to encourage it as, "the right way."
I've not seen anything that isn't on Netflix, because I don't have access to anything other than Netflix (and, well, the internet, I suppose, but I tend not to go searching up stuff - for example, I've still not seen Game of Thrones, even though it's apparently really easy).

I think Luke Cage was my favorite of the shows. I hope you enjoy it!
I don't have television so I end up buying shows I want to watch on itunes. They generally end up being cheaper than getting a single month of Comcast, let alone several months to watch the whole show. Things I am not keen on buying I will watch on Netflix when they come out there. So mainly I buy Marvel superhero shows, the Star Wars animated shows, Last Airbender/Korra shows, and Game of Thrones on itunes, and watch most other stuff on Netflix (I do have the various Star Trek shows, and Firefly on itunes as well).
I saw last night that you had started that thread! Rick is a neat guy so I think you'll get some fun answers from him.

It's good!
Luke Cage is really good so far, though it's very different in tone and pacing from the other series. It's really interesting. I like Luke, and I empathize with his reluctance, especially since the events of JJ force him to wonder if he's actually a good guy or murderous. It is unfortunate that he is targeting the <spoiler>* first (or at least looking like he will, since he saw <them> take <the backpack> into the building, considering that <person> - while not good, exactly - is actively trying to encourage disengagement with nefarious forces and bad actions.

It sounds like Steve has 23 subscriptions. This is a question I don't think I could have answered as I would not give out information a customer may consider personal. So I probably would have just mentioned he has them listed in his tag by his name.
Hmm, I don't remember how far along the story was by episode 4. I enjoyed all of the characters though. I like Cottonmouth as a villain more than I like the final villain. I'm really keen to see a lot more of Black Mariah in future seasons!
Blue is my favorite color, so blue lightsabers are my favorite ones.
My favorite force user is Aayla Secura. My favorite light side characters are Sabine Wren and Wedge Antilles (Wedge was my favorite since I was small up until Rebels came out and now Sabine is, but I feel bad not saying Wedge is after all those years of being my favorite. My favorite dark side villain? I don't like to play favorites, so they are all equally not my favorite. I think I may have answered these incorrectly but I think they all sort themselves out (Aayla is a force user and jedi so if by light side you meant good force user and not good guy person, she fits it, and Sabine and Wedge match the favorite non force users in that case as well).
I have not. I haven't got a chance to play any Starfinder yet.

I have! I get all of the Star Wars comics but not until they are available in trade paperback so I am a little behind on them. I really like her. I enjoyed her a lot in the Darth Vader title and I enjoyed the most recent trade as well. I think I like her title more because I like her more without Vader looming over her. I'm looking forward to reading more! I really appreciated the kind of Indiana Jones vibe it had and really liked the multiple 'maybe it happened this way' perspectives they gave on that old organization (I can't recall the name right now, but I bet right at the 10 minutes and 1 second mark I will remember).

I have watched both Clone Wars and Rebels. The new, and final season of Rebels started this week. It was the episode I saw at Star Wars celebration!
I saw the Clone Wars movie in the theater but was not really impressed so I only watched the first season on and off when it was airing. It grew on me though and I think the last few seasons were really strong!
I really really like Rebels! It is my favorite of the shows I am currently actively watching (though I am really liking The Gifted as well).
I have not read that thread. I am not sure what is going on at the point where you linked. I see stat blocks but am unclear on why. A while back I read part of the first thread and decided it was not for me. It looks like the focus of the thread has shifted?

Good!
Mostly, the thread is a ridiculous series of contrived jokes with some few actual in-game consequences or ideas picked up or discussed from time to time. Most recently, I was curious if anyone wanted to stat out some "iconic" succubus grapplers (mostly in silliness - but there have been rather well-done stories or ideas as a result of that thread's silliness, so far, so...). Turns out at least two people are interested!
For myself, I have two "serious" (insomuch as they can be) stories/characters that I'm developing already for three different unrelated characters.
You have no need to participate, if it's not your thing - mostly I just thought I'd bump your thread, say, "hi" and see how you were doing, and that seemed like an appropriate method of doing so!
Clone Wars has certainly improved as the seasons have continued - I'm at Season 4, now.
Do you have a favorite episode or arc or season?
Unfortunately, my kids (ages 6 and - as of yesterday, woo! - 3) watch it with me... and they heart "Master Anakin" (and Asokha and Master Obiwan) so very, very much.
>.>
I, uh... I'm totally a good daddy, you guys.
<.<
*cough*
dangit
Anyway...
I've not seen rebels, yet - I'm waiting to finish Clone Wars. It's my understanding that it, too, starts off slower, but picks up the pace as time goes on.
Also, I just finished Season 4 of Voltron: Legendary Defender! Have you had the chance, yet? If so, what do you think?
As for Starfinder, based on your tendency to enjoy rogues and swashbucklers, I really suspect you'll like the Operative class, whenever you get around to it (though, of course, Solarion is the way to totally play a Jedi knight er- non-copywright-infringing enlightened fantasy space warrior with a philosophy based around cosmic awareness and stuff who can wield laser-like blades*.
Also, Envoys - you know the ambassador class with all the diplomacy for days? - totally have weapon proficiency with grenades. >:D
ANYWAY, I'm rambling.
Speaking of needlessly traumatizing children, I'm afraid I've forgotten: have you ever played Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess? Because I think that's going to be the next LoZ my 6-year-old and play...
#totallyagoodfatheriswear!
* That is not the only option, obviously. But come on.

I do have a favorite arc. It is near the end of Season 5 though and I don't want to spoil it for you. It features a character you've met though, Barriss Offee.
Rebels does get stronger with each season, but I think it started stronger than Clone Wars did.
I didn't know there was a season 4 of Voltron. I feel like season 3 just came out and I just watched it. I will have to check Netflix.
I have Twilight Princess but I haven't played it. The Zelda games have always been one of my favorite franchises and I get them all, but starting around Windwaker I just haven't really been able to dive into the them the way I used to. It may just be that I struggle to get into most video games more than I used to and just don't play them as much as I used to though.

Tacticslion |

I feel you on the lack of time! In fact, it's only due to my youngest that I've been playing video games at all! Yay for kids! Bustin' out all those "new" (to them) games, fresh from '07! That's only ten years! New, I tell you! Mario Galaxy is neeeeeeeewwwwwwww~!
Oh, uh... *cough*
TP is a really good 'Zelda game, but it's a better 'Selda story. One of my favorites. Really dark, though.
I'll have to keep an eye out for your arc in Season 5!
What is your favorite Star Wars novel, and is it still "canon"?

Diego Valdez Customer Service Representative |

I have heard it is a great game. I need to play Skyward Sword too (I have the super special version that came with a gold wiimote).
It is one of the very last arcs of the season.
Hmm, favorite novel? I am very fond of Karen Traviss's Republic Commando novels (Hard Contact, Triple Zero, True Colors, Order 66, and the last one is Imperial Commando: 501st). They are not canon, but could easily fit in it as most of the new canon is post Revenge of the Sith.
I was also fond of the Jedi Academy trilogy, mainly because I looooove the Tales of the Jedi comics and Exar Khun from those is in it. I was a teenager when I read them so who knows what the quality was. Definitely not canon.
I have always loved rebel pilots (I have every action figure that is released in rebel pilot gear) and Wedge is one of my most favorite characters so I also have to include the X-Wing novels. They are not canon either.
Of the new canon ones I have read I think my favorite so far has been Sith Lords. I generally don't get novels until they are available in Mass Market format, so there are a few I haven't got yet. I also have but have not yet read the Aftermath books and Bloodlines. There are a few that have been released in the Young Adult Hardcover format (smaller more compact hardcovers) and I have not got those. Since they will likely never be released in Mass Market format I will end up having to buy them in hardcover which annoys me, especially when I have to put them on my bookshelf.

Diego!
Now I've seen Season 4!
... still not done with Season 5! XD
I've got to say... Clone Wars (though it had a bit of a rough start in the film) is... phenomenal. It does exactly what the prequel trilogy failed to accomplish.
It somehow makes political bickering, trade agreements, taxation, embargoes, and a tediously long war... fascinating and, even more impressive, believable.

I have seen Dark Matter. I enjoyed it. It's not one of my favorites, but I did enjoy it enough to watch all 3 seasons.
Yeah, Clone Wars had a rough start but it really got better with each season! And it really is a better version of the prequels.
Rebels is also very good. Like Clone Wars it gets better every season. Its first season isn't as strong as Clone Wars later seasons, but it also doesn't have as rough a start as Clone Wars did. Seasons 2 and 3 were absolutely wonderful. Season 4 is very good so far too!

I've seen the first two episodes of Rebels, and I really liked it! As my boys both got suuuuuuuuuuper in Legend of Zelda, recently (the youngest is doing Wind Waker - well, okay, *I'm* doing WW, while he watches, at his request -, my oldest is doing Skyward Sword, and I'm doing Twilight Princess), we've not been able to watch more than the first two episodes.

2 is my favorite. I am a big fan of the Android as well though. Data from Star Trek has long been kind of the model for playing a character like that but I really like the way the actress has portrayed Android. I think the emotion program had a much smoother and more natural progression than Data's emotion chip in Star Trek.
