@Malwing - do you specifically NOT want folks to chime in and answer questions, and leave it to you? Only mentioning it because I did link both the Tinker and Zephyrus already to those questions asked...

I did more research on the Tinker stuff from Interjection Games. Looks perfect! The tricksy open-ended mechanics perfectly suit the kind of imagination I'd want to apply to Tinker creations. Looking forward to the hardcover but will hold off on purchases until then!

Shadowfall looks perfect - bought it!

@Oceanshieldwolf, from my perspective I want to hear the OP's opinion. He started the thread and explained the huge number of TPP products he owns, so I want to hear what he says. Other opinions are nice but it makes sense that he would respond to every question, since that's the intent of the thread :)

@Coffee Demon - sure I get that, but perhaps indicating that is the exclusive desire in the OP, and failing that, acknowledging other folks' reported experience would make the community usefulness greater.

I'm always happy to chime in and help with links and advice, but if this is entirely meant as a sole column, then so be it - I'll leave it to Mal. ;)

Its more that I didn't realize that those were already pointed out before I posted. I had some extra surprise birthday celebrations and my brain wasn't all there as a side-effect. That and sleep deprivation due to the fact that Jessica Jones popped up on Netflix.

Hi Interjection Games,

Definitely looks interesting! I'd way rather have a hardcover than a bunch of PDFs. Is it too early for you to give a rough summary of how many pages the hardcover will be, and what it will contain?

Do you have a mailing list that you send out news to? I'd love to sign up for it.

Please playtest, do clear layout and get lots of editing help to reduce errors! That goes a long way towards making a product usable!

Most new content won't need the playtesting, though there are a few combos that will need to be checked to see that they're fair. Generally, anything that threatens to be power creep or totally novel content needs to be stared at. The rest'll just go in the book.

Ultimate Tinkering will contain the following:

The Tinker Base Class and all of its expansions
The Gadgeteer Base Class and all of its expansions

Kingdom building rules for technology level. Invest in tech at the kingdom level and you start meeting kingdom-wide prerequisites for tech feats. Suddenly, each member of the royal guard has a construct sidekick that he orders around as though he were a tinker, or craftsmen gain proficiency with advanced fabrication techniques and crank out mundane gear much quicker. It's something Pathfinder just doesn't do, so let's put in rules for the steampunk industrial revolution from the top down!

Archetypes that give gadgeteer/tinker abilities to the core classes. Secret agent rogues, mechadruids, and so on.

More content for the tinker and gadgeteer, of course. Currently, I've got about 15 pages of new inventions and one bizarre archetype, though there will be more.

Let's say 200 pages or so.

@Coffee Demon - check out Interjection Games aptly named... Tinker Base class.

@sepik121. I'm pretty sure ARMR Studios did a hack on that Dragoon class called the Zephyrus - the lo-fi cover art even looks like a fan rip-off of the original. I wasn't completel taken with the mechanics of the class, but last I remembered it was FREE...yep still is.

If I were you I would go down to the Homebrew subforum and do a search for Dragoon - you'll find no small number of versions...

So I totally didn't even realize there was a homebrew sub-forum. Thanks a ton for that cause I'll be crawling through that a bit to see anything that pops out.

Anything that fits with an ancient Aztec/Mayan theme? I'm looking for some settings/classes/anything inspired by that mythology

Red Goblin Games did something for that actually. Heroes of the West. DSP's Tzocatl is in playtest too. Tzocatl is getting a huge rework and update soon, so I recommend watching it and waiting for that update.

Two questions from me:

1) Can you recommend good resources for the Shadow Plane, including inhabitants, travel from there to the Material plane and back?

Thanks!

You might want to check out Mythic Monsters: Shadow for a dozen and one shadow-themed monsters plus a mythic version of the shadowdancer prestige class. Mythic Monsters are a delightful addition to the GM's toolbox even if you're running a regular campaign, just to pull off some dirty GM tricks with some very cool thematics that will make your dwellers in the deep shadow plane really rock more so than their typical kin that PCs might have encountered before.

I'm also seconding Malwing on the sci-fi stuff. As someone who is currently running a Phantasy Star campaign in Pathfinder (to be specific, they're going through Phantasy Star 4's plot), those items he listed are clutch.

Also to not be totally off-topic, did you ever play the old Final Fantasy games Malwing? I'm looking for a Dragoon style class based on those old games (Kain from final fantasy 4 is a perfect example): A martial character, specialized in using spears/lances/polearms. Their iconic ability though is to be able to jump incredibly high into the sky and come crashing down on their enemy for large amounts of damage.

Here's a pretty good example of what i'm looking for: http://www.finalfantasyd20.com/ffd20/dragoon.html

I'm just nervous about it because I've yet to see any real discussion about Final Fantasy d20 PF here, and I'm wondering if there's a 3PP who made something similar to it.

Thanks a ton!

Thanks for this insight. Phantasy Star 4 is my favorite all time game ever. I want that to be an RPG so desperately.
