Hey. I'm creating my own campaign, and one of the encounters is a NPC ally that ends up being possessed by maybe a vrock demon? I don't have his statistics up yet, but he will be a paladin of Iomedae 6 or 7.
I was wondering how his paladin levels could work with the template. I was thinking of, while he's still a paladin, his paladin levels are considered antipaladin for as long as he is possessed. But if there are even better ideas, I would love to hear from you guys.

I don't know if I'ld go that far, a paladin is powered by a god( or god-ish being), a vrock, while spiritually powerful, is still nowhere near that level. The vrock is in control, I'ld personally do it as either a magic jar effect, or treating the body as a fallen paladin ONLY WHILE THE VROCK IS IN CONTROL. Consider giving the Eldritch Heritage (Abyssal) feat chain to compensate for weakened combat ability.

Hmm...I think I may want to go with a fallen paladin, but make it as a different NPC. Or not-I haven't really made that decision quite yet.
However, I think with the Eldritch Heritage feat chain, I can only select the first one-as Improved Eldritch Heritage requires a character to be at 11th level or higher, and I'm having this NPC be around level 6, 7 or 8 in his paladin levels.
And is it possible that I can replace some of the paladin's abilities with the antipaladin's? (like, the only one I think I want to change while he's possessed is change smite evil to smite good).

Vrocks can't actually possess anything. You could use a Shadow Demon instead, as they have a 1/day magic jar and are known for possessing people.
To that effect, here is how magic jar works:
If you are successful, your life force occupies the host body, and the host's life force is imprisoned in the magic jar. You keep your Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma, level, class, base attack bonus, base save bonuses, alignment, and mental abilities. The body retains its Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, hit points, natural abilities, and automatic abilities. A body with extra limbs does not allow you to make more attacks (or more advantageous two-weapon attacks) than normal. You can't choose to activate the body's extraordinary or supernatural abilities. The creature's spells and spell-like abilities do not stay with the body.
So the demon possessing a paladin would simply not have the ability to use the paladin's spells, whether it becomes an ex-paladin, or an antipaladin, it simply can not use those abilities while possessing the body, as they would in fact be with the host soul in the jar, and are not linked to the body.
Effectively the paladin's body would become an ex-paladin as long as the demon is in possession.

Yeah, a demon possession would not grant the demon any of the person's class abilities.
Class abilities are something that are the result of training. Possession puts the mind of a creature into the body of another.
Oh, and without special abilities/magic/items the "paladin" would detect as evil during the possession by the demon.

Hmm...I'm thinking that the possessed paladin idea may not work. Perhaps I'll just go with a straight up fiend-most likely an incubus or a vrock.
Thanks for your guys help.
I smell another paladin falls plot thickening.....
That wasn't really what I had in mind. It was more of a, "Our best friend is possessed, probably against his will," kind of thing.
