Is it recommended that we include a note to the illustrator?

e.g.: list a real-world plant species that would be a useful visual reference

You don't have to, but if you have an idea of what you want it to look like you can send me that info and I will take it into consideration when I write the art order.

I am now going to start working on integrating these 12 new monsters into the product schedule along with the monsters I previously had on the list.

In fact, I can say that the first one to be published will be the Skeleton Tree by Jacob W. Michaels, along with a selection of haunts related to the tree. It will be included in our Deadly Spooky Gardens Halloween Special that will be released in early Oct.

Check out the R.I.G. Facebook Page. I posted the cover of the Spooky Gardens Halloween Special Last Night. It will include the Skeleton Tree plus a selection of haunts by Jacob, and the Brain Pumpkin plus a template for Pumpkin-Headed creatures by me. There will also be an 8 page mini-adventure if I can get it ready in time.

Awesome. I'm honored to be the contributor to the first product that wasn't completely done by you!

And the art looks great, Liz.

JJ Jordan,
Please contact me via email or PM regarding development of your Pitch!

Oh, wow, I thought it was due October 5th. 9th? I'm early for once!

I mean, just sent my (half-)submission in. Early. As planned.

That's okay KC. As my boss at my day job is fond of saying - there is no penalty for getting a project done early.

Thank you to everyone who submitted your ideas. There were many more good ideas then my budget allowed me to select for development. I encourage everyone who submitted to continue pursuing freelance game design opportunities if that is your goal.

Thanks Russ! Good luck with the project!

Okay the deadline for submitting your Monster write ups is today! If you have not yet sent me the write up please make sure you do so before the end of the day. I am still waiting on three monsters and one hazard. The write ups that I have already received are looking very good with only some minor tweaks necessary.

Unfortunately I never heard back from JJ Jordan so we will not being seeing the Shade Tree as part of the Deadly Gardens series. This makes me sad because it was a pretty cool idea.

So people can set their expectations on when they can see these monsters, let me talk about my plan for the Deadly Gardens series. The current plan is to have 24 regular 4-page volumes plus 5 special larger sized volumes. The regular volumes feature one monster each and the specials will likely have 3-4 monsters that share a theme. The Halloween Special, for example, is 16 pages and has 2 monsters and 2 monster templates plus supplemental material. All of these will be released on a schedule covering now through the end of 2016. I will try and put that schedule on a google calendar or something and make it available on the internet.

Also I have begun commissioning art for all of the remaining monsters in the series, both from the open call and my own creations. Some I have recieved back already and they are looking awesome. The artists I am using include: Graeme Cunningham (see R.I.G's Fearsome Foes: The Ravenous), Jeremy Corff, Keith Wood, and Liz Courts.

Okay that is a big enough info dump for now. ~Russ
