Looks like my item went in the first cull :( I didn't think it was **that** bad.
Probably not an issue of quality but a DQ for some reason.
Well, as a Top 16 before, I would be willing to bet he didn't get DQ'd.
My guess is that voters can be fickle and with a different time of the year, there might very well be a large swing in the type of voters this time around.
True, I'd just hope someone that had progressed beyond the first round would know to read the rules for any twists or special rules.

Most of the first cull was templating issues and DQs. I don't think many culled items were due to the actual function of the item.

My item was skirted off the board on the second cull. It was awesome!
What does the X under a Cull column mean? does that mean the item was removed from voting?
No, it means it is still on board.
The X means the item was spotted post-cull. So Items with 2 X's are still in the contest.

Seems weird that there are 3 items seen since the second cull yet were not seen yesterday. Since the 3rd cull has not happened the lack of them being marked with yesterday's date just seems a bit odd.
They may have been DQ'd.
They may have been mismarked as seen in the first place (or stuck in a voter's queue from before the cull).
Or they may just not have been seen yet. At the beginning of the day there were still 10 that hadn't been seen yesterday.

DQ can happen to the best when rules vary from one season to another.
I remeber last season, someone submitted a wondrous item 5 minutes after the rules and submission form went up. The couldn't go back on it.
My heart seriously went out to that person. That had to have been a terrible feeling.
Or people neglected to update the date field...

Finally saw my item today, man, I am super pumped!!! Sad thing is, the excel sheet seems to be locked, and I can't update dates like I could this morning on items I am seeing today?

And the point of record is Paizo's office, so if you hit today before they did, that might have been the issue.

No, it's working right now (I just went through and marked everything that was seen today). I had your problem happen at one point and had to reload the page, after which it worked. If that doesn't solve it, I'm not sure what to tell you. :/

I was entering today's date this morning, all was cool. Tried again this afternoon, and I can't even select a cell in the excel document. I also don't see the messages when I hover over cells at the top of the page. Any ideas? :)

I closed the browser tab, reset my password on google, relogged into Google, closed the tab for the spreadsheet, reopened again from scratch. Same problem...

My boss is geeking out just about as much as I am about my entry in this contest. He's even created a profile on Paizo forums so he can vote too. God, I love my job!

So I have 300 more opponents to beat. I can trust no one. Every rhyme in every single poem might be an enemy.
I'm expecting there to be about 300-350 after this cull, guesstimating an 80% retention rate each time.
That means everyone left has about a 10% chance of being in the top 32!
No sightings of my item on the list yet. :|

Spreadsheet is working.
The first two culls were roughly 20% each, if the 3rd cull is also ~20% we can expect ~50 more items to still be in the running.
Unless of course, it was a deeper cut (percentage wise).

I love the feeling of adding an items first sighting post cull. I imagine the rest you you are as nervous and neurotic as me, and suddenly seeing you still in it causes outbursts that make others think you might be nuts.
Hmm... I can't edit the spreadsheet either now. Followed my own advice to no avail.
Have a couple items to add to the post- 3rd cull stats.

My projection is 361.
I split the earlier culls into estimated DQs and estimated culls and have different projections for each part. (ie cull percentage slowly rising and DQ percentage tailing off dramatically)
I'm also projecting 2 more culls and a final population of ~230.
But very interested in seeing where this one gets us -- I have two different models and this third cull is kind of the inflection point for figuring out which one is being used. (Or if both my models are complete nonsense.)
Season 8 had the one cull which brought it down to ~350. I don't know how much more the item pool can take!

I love the feeling of adding an items first sighting post cull. I imagine the rest you you are as nervous and necrotic as me, and suddenly seeing you still in it causes outbursts that make others think you might be nuts.

Well, I would expect the next two to be fairly shallow (60-70 items each). From what I've seen today, there are still enough weak items that one more wouldn't be a real problem. (Understanding that today's "weak item" was a "mid-range item with flaws" at the beginning of the contest.)
